  1. Mon. Hit the shallows we were fishing last week and was not impressed. Headed N. and fished in 22 FOW and boated some chunky eyes. Tue. Headed back to the same area 22 FOW but was greeted with 4 foot seas. Before fishing I had to make an electrical repair. While fishing we broke a swivel on the Port trolling bag. I was able to get the bag in and then hook the bags mainline with a boat hook and make a temp repair. There were four of us onboard including a old friend that lost a leg about a year ago. He is also a WW2 vet but a different guy than the one onboard last week. We were trying to get him out for awhile but things kept getting in the way. We boxed a heavy 4 man limit on the Outer Bay pulling bouncers and meat. Returning to port I noticed my bilge pump was locked up and was tripping a breaker. We had a lot of little problems today that were dealt with. I have to make some permanent repairs today and over the weekend. Some people don't realize what goes into maintaining a boat and fishing gear. Wed. I was a guest aboard the FishHawk. Thanks Bob for a chance to fish with you. We took some heavy eyes in 30-34 FOW on the Outer Bay with bouncers and meat and in-line weights and meat. There are a lot of fish in the system. It was good fishing again with Roger H and meeting a new friend Rick. Thur. I was again welcomed aboard the FishHawk. The Hogs we were on Wed. exited stage left. We spent a lot of time and fuel but splashed through a lot of water on the beautiful Saginaw Bay. We finished up in the Inner Bay in 26 FOW and got some table eyes. Thanks again Bob. It was nice to meet you Rick.
  2. Nice report Luke. Keep up the good work especially with the kids.
  3. Just been too busy with repairs, yard work, and fishing to post.
  4. Don. It's good to have another MI East Coast person here.
  5. Elmer G. and his daughter fished with me in the WFW event out of Bay City. He enjoyed reeling in most of the fish in the Walleye For Warriors event so his daughter wanted him to do so again. Elmer is legally blind but does rather well for his 90 years and some limitations. This trip couldn't have been possible without Skip S. and Tom D. helping me with the trip financially and physically. I hope we can do it again because I could feel what our special guest was feeling. He told me he hopes we can do it again soon. His daughter took some pics onbaord and I may post some of them also. She doesn't email pics so I may have to wait for snail mail.
  6. But just think, "This could never happen to any of us".
  7. I fished with Elmer G, Denise G, Tom D. and Skip S. We boxed 25 eyes in short order. Elmer G is a WW2 Vet that fished with me in the WFW event out of Bay City. We fished 12 FOW and pulled bouncers and meat @ 1.7 MPH. Purple, Glows, Copper, Chartreuse and Pink all took fish.Surface water temps were pushing 80 F. We need a good blow to cool things down.
  8. GJ Tom.
  9. GJ Tony C. We are so fortunate to have this great fishery in our back yards. There has never been so many fish in the system.
  10. Bring the boys over and we'll light em up again.
  11. Gotta Luv Dat Bay. Lord knows I do. Tom, Mel, Pat, Rod, and I teamed up on Priority1 to box 25 eaters. 9-12 FOW pulling 2 oz bouncers and two hook harnesses. The KISS method. We started going 1.5 but the fish told us they wanted it faster. Always listen to the fish. Bumped it up to 1.7 MPH and hung on. Find out what they want and give em lots of it. Chartreuse, Orange, Glow, and big homemade Purple Smile did most of the damage. Tom and Pat never fished with me before but by the end of trip they were tuned in. A lot of the gear I run is home spun. I usually do some tweaking to every store bought piece of equipment. Surface water temps were 77 degrees F. You can stay and play on the Inner Bay or Run and Gun and have some fun. Da Bay is loaded with fish. Gotta Luv what we have in out back yards.
  12. There is a way to eliminate those short hitting Sons of Fishes from stealing your bait and not hooking up. Two to Three Dozen crawlers will put 20-25 eyes in my box. I usually wash 3 doz to start and have 4 more in the big cooler just in case.
  13. Gotta Love it Rick. Were you running inlines or bouncers?? What Speed and colors worked best?? How many FOW?? Inquiring minds want to know.
  14. Good fishin and an excellent report.
  15. GJ Mark. The bay is on fire. I bring home more crawlers at the end of the trip than most people go out with.
  16. Ryan, Fun times with the family. You are making fond memories. That chrome is shining like an old Cadillac Bumper.
  17. Fantastic fishing Jim. Better to be one short than one over. I'll have to get a demo on the auto pilot. SomethinFishy has one also that he wants me to try with bags.
  18. Thanks Jim. Maybe in a month I'll be able to drag myself off these walleye. What brand do you have? Do you have hydraulic steering?
  19. WTG Heckman and Sons racing team.
  20. Totally different area. I just wanted to try something different. You can catch em high, you can catch em low, you can catch em fast, and you can catch em slow. The bay is full of fish.
