  1. Jimmy, Way to gitter done.
  2. Nice going Ed.
  3. Capt. Charlie, A warm .
  4. Brian, Nice video of the cool water eyes.
  5. What is available to us amazes me. It wasn't too long ago that only commercial vessels could afford the stuff we have on our rigs today.
  6. The wind and solar stuff is OK but it surely will not efficiently power and industrial state. I think we all need to think hard on the proposal. If it wasn't for subsidies the green stuff wouldn't come close to pulling it's weight. Our lakes and landscapes covered with windmills could get ugly. The wind doesn't blow and the sun doesn't shine all the time. They are a big experiment right now, with high maintenance costs. To lock us into a certain percentage seems risky to me. The way the TV ads make it sound all of the wind stuff is Michigan made. I think technology is great but I think the wind and solar are in the same boat with electric vehicles. Maybe down the road this will be the way to go, but I don't think their time is here yet. I hope I'm not being political, but my passion for our Great Lakes, and Michigan's Industries, is why I had to speak. PS: A few weeks ago I saw three rigs, with wind turbine blades, going E on I69 just W of Flint. MI DOT had one of the rigs pulled over.
  7. Welcome Scott and Jason. Thanks for the reports.
  8. Josh, Some nice chrome there.
  9. Brad, Thanks for the report and a warm to the GLF site.
  10. Lake MI and Lake Huron are essentially one body of water joined by the Straits of Mackinac. All the the lower parts of rivers running into these lakes are also very low. Most of the marinas and launch sites are effected to some extent. This problem is truly a trickle down one. The upper watershed of Lake Superior has the most effect on the water levels of the Great Lakes. A lot of snow in the Superior watershed will do the most good.
  11. Sherm, So sorry on the passing of your friend and brother.
  12. GJ Matt. Don't spoil the taste with any bread wrapped around them.
  13. Aaron, Sorry about your loss also.
  14. Paul, A warm to you.
  15. Dave, A warm Thanks for supporting the site.
  16. Capt. Rich, Fantastic!!!!!!! Fishing Lake O is still on my bucket list.
  17. Sherm, I truly feel for you. $4000 (OUCH!!!) can make for a quite a few fishing trips. Once you start down the repair road it's tough to quit. We have all been there with trucks, cars, bikes, boats, etc. On the other hand all it did was bruise your wallet. You and your son are OK and will fish and maybe even smile at this when you recover financially. Be glad it was the boat and NOT you. At this point there is nothing left you can do and I hope this makes you feel just a little better.
  18. Silence isn't necessarily golden. I believe that the harmonics of the wire can attract fish to the spread. I know I'm not alone in this theory. Everything has it's pros and cons. At one point in time I knew fishermen that were removing wire from the riggers for stealth and spooling wire on their Dipsy rigs. Personally I believe that the harmonics on the riggers as well as the Dipsys is beneficial MOST of the time. Certain conditions require different presentations. Some times wire Dipsys will out shine the braid and other times not.
  19. Thank you all. Mel was a member of this site but never posted.
  20. Brian, A warm You will fit right in here.
  21. A good friend and fishing partner was called home after a successful elk hunt in CO. Mel was an avid sportsman and scored racks for Commemorative Bucks of MI. I fished with Mel several times and he will always be with me in spirit. Fishon!! Are you going to get it or should I? http://www.watkinsfuneralhomes.com/fh/obituaries/obituary.cfm?o_id=1590711&fh_id=10242
