  2. Capt. Rob, Cool video.
  3. Nels Larsen, the originator of WFW, has some serious health issues. He is continuing to spearhead the WFW event. Please keep this good man in your thoughts and prayers.
  4. Wheels, GJ on the ice. GJ adapting after the bite slowed to continue the action.
  5. Bob, Sorry to hear that the fishing is less than stellar. Wait until Spring or early Summer, drop on down, and jump onboard and go trolling with a troll.
  6. ^ What he said.

  8. Hi Boat Captains! Good news! You can now register on our website by following this link: http://www.walleyesforwarriors.com/boat-captain-registration.html As many of you know, being a Boat Captain for the WFW event is something that is truly amazing! Last year, almost 1,000 fish were caught, cleaned, and packaged for Veterans to take home. Of course, that's only a small part of this special day for our Veterans, volunteers, and sponsors. As volunteers and sponsors, this is our opportunity to show appreciation for the service our Veterans have given to our country and say "Welcome Home!" If you haven't experienced a WFW event yet, please take a few minutes to view the photos from the first two events on our website to get a good idea of how much our Veterans appreciate this event, and how much we as volunteers and sponsors appreciate doing this for our Veterans! If you have been a volunteer at either event, you already know how great this is and we're excited to have you back in 2013! If you have any questions before registering, please feel free to reply to this email and we'll follow-up with you shortly. Otherwise, feel free to register now and we'll contact you in the near future with additional information. Thank you for your interest in being a special part of Walleyes For Warriors 2013! Sincerely, The WFW Staff
  9. Ed, Thanks for the report. You're tougher than I am.
  10. When Saginaw and Midland started construction of the Whitestone Point Pipeline in 40s Bay City was asked to join the project. About 65 years later they are coming onboard. I don't live too far from the Whitestone Point intake plant.
  11. Capt. Chris, It's always good to read your reports from the sunshine state.
  12. I remove the skin most of time also. Some of the smaller fish that will be smoked or grilled fresh I'll leave the skin on. When these smaller fish hit the plate I remove the skin and scrape off any dark stuff. Smaller Coho marinated in Italian dressing and grilled skin side down is a favorite.
  13. Larry, back. Don't be a stranger.
  14. Capt. Tony, Thanks for the report. I'll bet those bass fight like crazy in the warm FL waters.
  15. Nice video. Nothing like Winter steel.
  16. Mike, Good job and thanks for the report.
  17. Dan, Thanks for the report.
  18. Steve, Thanks for the report.
  19. From what I have heard they are a good solid boat. Maybe someone with some personal experience will chime in. I know Penn Yan also made a true inboard with tunnel drive. It would be a good idea to have someone look it over closely.
  20. Jon, I'm glad I woke you up. I need someone to light a fire under my butt to get me moving a lil faster. I have lots of stuff to do before Spring and I always seem to wait until after I change calendars.
  21. Good Luck to you and Hunter.
  22. Grant, Praying as I type.
  23. I ordered some 2" Stainless Steel Tubing and some 3/16" Stainless plate that arrived today. I have some aluminum pedestals that are original to the boat 26 yo that have broken and been repaired a few times. The stress at the base of these pedestals, caused by ocean motion, and the weight of a person and leverage provided by the length of the risers, takes its toll. I know the new SS ones will hold till the cows come home. I'll also gusset the new pedestals with 3 short pieces of 7/8" SS tube that I had in the garage. This is a safety item. I'll probably add two new 2" SS rod holders off the brackets of my rocket launcher pointing slightly up and to the sides. These will be used for my outside planer boards. Ya can't have too many rod holders. I'll post some pics here after they are welded.
  24. I worked on a couple of my trolling rods and reels the other day.
  25. Try this one. http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/bizarre&id=8956902
