  1. Kevin, Fantastic!! GJ with the 10yo.
  2. Robert, I'll tell you what worked for me in the past. When something breaks try to get by without it and put it on the Christmas list. Example we had an electric coffee maker go bad so we got by with instant coffee for a month or two. Mr Coffee under the tree. The older we get the more stuff we have. We have a tendency to get what we want and need immediately. If you can hold off a bit let Santa bring it. Some of the other suggestions are great with gift cards etc. There is also stuff like socks, gloves, and clothing but be specific so you get what you need. Aftershave, Perfume, and any number of small things for the car truck or boat will also work. Have them volunteer for a weekend when you have some tough chores to do. Make it fun with a BBQ etc.
  3. I think there are some rentals in the Houghton Lake Prudenville area. This is between 127 and I75 on M55. Maybe a Google search would give you some choices.
  4. That is a fact.
  5. NWR, SWR, presentation is everything. Sometimes is just doesn't matter what you do or put out. Other times small tweaks in the way lures are presented will pay dividends. It all boils down to, "Find out what they want and give em lots of it."
  6. Ed, FANTASTIC!! Thanks for sharing deer camp 2013 with us.
  7. I have some detent pins used to hold my rocket launcher and bird trees in position. I have used short pieces of old rigger cable to tether the pins to the equipment. I'm a hoarder also. Sooner or later I find some use for the stuff. Maybe we should make necklaces with glow and uv beads. I have also used some pieces of cable for some specialty rigs. Maybe some trappers could use some to make snares or secure traps.
  8. Matt, GJ on the big eyes.
  9. Zach, GJ on the late season brown.
  10. These Reels have been sold on C/L. Thanks for looking.
  11. Kevin, GJ on the Zoo.
  12. Has anyone been in contact with Caz lately??
  13. Run a large enough wire to handle the load of both riggers. At some point someone is going to hit the switch on both of them. Check the load of both riggers and the length of wire to determine the wire size.
  14. The higher the better especially if you want to run the boards out quite far. When I used to run big boards I had a tether line attached loosely to the tow lines to bring it down and in to attach the releases and lines. A boat hook can also be used for this task. The reason you need the height is to keep the tow lines out of the water especially in rough conditions.
  15. Matt, Great hunting.
  16. Michael, Good job on the mixed bag.
  17. Harry, A warm to the GLF site.
  18. Mike, VN buck.
  19. Todd, VN catch. I hear you about the kids. It's always a pleasure sharing our sport with kids.
  20. Sherm, Thank You very much for your service to our country. It would seem appropriate that all vets get the day off.:thumb: Maybe some movement should be started. If the employer couldn't or wouldn't pay I think a lot of the people in the workforce that didn't serve would be willing to work an extra shift or day to make up for this deserved perk for our vets. I know that the Post Offices are also closed today. Many of the people working there and at banks etc have also served our country. Many of the federal jobs give priority to our vets, as they should. God Bless all our vets.
  21. Veterans, Have a great day and thank you for your service. Especially remembering the Veterans that have paid the ultimate price. Freedom isn't free. It was bought and paid for by our brave men and women in our armed forces.
  22. Jeanice and I went to see the movie Captain Phillips this evening. Tom Hanks does not disappoint. :thumb: That's my rating.
  23. Jimmy, Maybe a big wad of bubble gum would help.
  24. These reels were sold on Craigs List pending payment.
