  1. Christel, A warm to the GLF site. I lost a good friend, on the Bay, in March of 2008. We can find peace knowing that they were doing what they loved right up to the end. RIP Pete R. and Frank D. I'm looking forward to your fishing reports. Holler if you need any help. I fish the bay a lot during the Spring and Summer. Come on Spring.
  2. Jeff, A warm to GLF. It is more satisfying catching fish on stuff that you made yourself.
  3. There is a good LT fishery off Grindstone and Port Austin along with silver. I haven't fished it in awhile. In July you may be able to mix it up with some decent walleye in the cooler also.
  4. Roger, A warm to the GLF site. Just holler if we can help you in any way.
  5. Jigging for those huge pig LS lakers would be a blast for sure. Conditions would have to be right for long ride out there. You could also catch a decent nap to and fro. Lot of folks call it Standard Rock but in fact it's Stannard Rock. Get it right Big Jon. I know I could never expect to cover every bay or areas of the massive Great Lakes, but I just want to be able to say I fished on them all. When my trips get limited to a walk to the porch swing I can say, "Listen here sonny I fished all the Great ones."
  6. I would like to fish Lake Superior and Lake Ontario. This would complete the grand slam of fishing all the Great Lakes. I'm thinking I should check one of these off this year. Anyone else have these to check off your list?? Let's hear what else you may want to accomplish.
  7. Joe, For comparison I have a 22 Stracraft Islander Hardtop and the rocket launchers pivot down. My boat just barely goes in a 10ft high door.
  8. Pretty Cool. They will no doubt out fish regular lead heads.
  9. JD, A warm to the GLF site. I'm looking forward to your reports.
  10. To some extent we are all like little boys. We tend to put away or neglect our old toys in favor of new ones. Do the new colors, shapes, and other things catch more fish? Of course they catch more fish because we run them more. Like little boys, every once in awhile, we pull out an old toy and have more fun with it. Leadcore was a tried and true method that was shelved for awhile in favor of riggers and divers. What goes around comes around. It's kinda like the width of a man's tie, double breasted suits, and wing tipped shoes. Don't throw any of those away because they will be back.
  11. A warm Captain.
  12. All this snow, cold weather, and ice is a blessing in disguise. This should definitely help the lake levels.
  13. It's an ongoing problem where ever you go.
  14. A good way to keep kids involved the rest of their days.
  15. A warm to the GLF site. Keep the reports coming.
  16. Dan, A warm to GLF. I'm looking forward to your reports.
  17. GJ Jason and Scott.
  18. Steve, Are you referring to the billboard? If so that was on US23 about 5 miles N. of me.
  19. I thoroughly agree with fishing with someone that is experienced. Nothing can duplicate hands on experience. The learning curve will be reduced significantly. It's like driving a car or a boat. Ya just can't learn it all from reading a book or watching a video. Of course reading and watching videos will provide some deeded information but it's trumped by hands on experience.
  20. Tim, My thoughts also. I'm sure Mike wouldn't have left out a site sponsor. Two :thumb: for BW.
  21. Rod-Man is taking all six. Thank you all very much.
  22. Of course I'll send them to OH if you tell the boys from Ohio State to go a lil easier on Michigan. I'll send you a PM. Chad, Thanks for stepping up and continuing this GRRRRR8 site. A big thanks also to Mike H. for starting it. In all fairness Rod-Man replied first and will have first crack at em. If he doesn't take all of them I'll contact wfs. Thank you all for responding.
  23. I have 6 Line Counter reels for sale. These were purchased new in 2010 and 2011. These reels are in Great condition with no boat rash. These reels were always stored on rods in rod holders on the boat and in a rod rack in my garage. They have been used for walleye trolling only. The drags have always been backed off when not in use. I have the boxes if you want them. They also have the paperwork and extra reels handles. $25 each or all 6 for $135. Thanks for looking.
