Au Gres River is one of the best launches on the Bay. Stay towards the center of the river and channel until you clear the cans and you wont have any problems. Don't use either of the end ramps with the big boat. Linwood: I was there a few years back with a friend. He tore up a SS prop on his 200 hp Johnson. Probably the same darn rock. It's probably a money maker for the local marinas.

Bring it on Aaron. I'd love to have you and any of your family onboard. Kids are special on Priority1. I'll have my grandson Alex here next week. He's 11 yo. Last year if he wasn't on a rod I made sure he was on the net. He did a gr8 job and it gives all kids an ego boost when they can participate in all phases of the game. I may have him start setting lines this year. I'll make it special for Evan. -
Don, Congrats on the GH win. ^5s. GJ at putting all the puzzle pieces together.

If it was in the freezer it would be fine. The safety of it is questionable that long in the refrigerator. I use this rule, "If in doubt toss it." Some things are noticeably bad and some things can kill you and look perfectly fine. Maybe others have had experience with this and will chime in. I just wouldn't chance it.

Brad, Thanks for the report. I love to hear about all the short fish being caught along with limits of good keepers. Those little fish are great for our future. The Bay has been fantastic for years and should continue to be good. Luv dat Bay. -

The advice above is good. Watch the weather close. The shallow water Bay can be far worse than storms over deep water. The waves come close together. I'd bring the big boat and launch at the river. A day with two foot waves and an occasional 3 would make for a very uncomfortable day in the smaller boat. Smaller boats are fine when you can pick your days. You are locked into a time frame and should bring your best tools so that fishing a marginal day may be doable. If you want to jump on with me for a trip or two you'd be welcome.

Aaron, You are a good father. Keeping kids hooked on fishing will pay dividends I'm sure. GJ on the Erie fish. How's your dad doing? It was a pleasure meeting the two of you last Fall. -

Ed, I have had a lot going on lately but I hope to turn the heat up soon on the Bay eyes. Ya never know I may fish a weekend or two if the week days are bad. It's always good to hear you on the pond. If you get a chance give me a call and stop in for a visit. -

Ralph, My boat can handle cowboy boots, Stetson hats, and Texas drawls. My FIL was from Texas. I would like to meet and fish with your son. Apples never fall far from the tree so I know he's a good man. -
I just wanted to say THANK YOU to John V aka as Dutchman, Somethin Fishy, and Dutch; Terry P aka Dirty Dog; and Mike R aka as SeaMac. These three guys sure know how to fish and are so good at making people comfortable in unfamiliar surroundings. Tom T aka TallTails, and I had a blast fishing with these knowledgeable fishermen. The Holland area is becoming one of my favorite West side places. BTW the fishing was fantastic. We had a mixed bag on Sat and Steel on Sun. My new name for Holland is, The Steel Mill. Gotta Luv dem tail walking SOGs.

I,m sorry to here of your problems and Donna's problems. I'll keep you both in my prayers. I like visiting with you on and off line. My wife, Jeanice, had cataract surgery and is doing fine. I'll be turning up the heat on those toothy critters very soon. My shake down went well. I was over to the Holland Steel Mill and fished with some great guys from the West Side. Somethin Fishy, Dirty Dog, and SeaMac sure know how to roll out the welcome wagon. I had a great time but I'm into a two day recovery program to catch up on chores. Tomorrow Jeanice will have a followup appointment for her eye and possibly schedule her other eye for surgery. It all eats time but is a necessary distraction that is helping her tremendously.

I own a 22' Islander Hardtop and mostly pull short distances (10 Miles). My 2WD 4.3 Silverado is rated for 5000# towing capacity. This set up handles the load nicely. I don't think I'd go lighter than what I have. I'm pretty sure that with gear, fuel, and trailer you'd be at or over the 3500# rating. A truck scale would tell you exactly. In windy conditions some of the lightweight vehicles pulling max loads have a tough time controlling them. -
