Everything was kept right on the bottom or slightly up. We had a couple of high ones on the outside boards early but soon put them to the basement where the action was. I don't like to think about how far back when I run bouncers. They are either on the bottom or so many feet up. When I'm asked how far back I run bouncers I usually don't say anything. I'd be happy to explain a bouncer presentation in person or otherwise. To me how far back is not an appropriate BB question. I don't mean any offense but I would rather spend hrs explaining how to run BB than to give up easy answers that will be useless in the future with different depths and speeds. My bouncers are homemade and run a bit different than the store bought ones do. It sure would have been easier just to drop a few numbers.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Chuck A, Bob E, and my grandson Alex. A 3 oz down rod was hot with a #4 dirty copper blade. 1.5 MPH. 29-34 FOW. Quick 4 man limit with little time to eat drink or wind my watch. We fished 12 lines with 10 Offshore boards with flags and 2 oz bouncers with harnesses. Two down rods with 3 oz bouncers. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/gallery/files/8/7/dsc00674_a_thumb.jpg' alt='dsc00674_a_thumb.jpg'>

We started early with two foot waves with an occasional 3. It soon built to 5s with an occasional 6 footer. We fished carefully for awhile staying close and within easy striking distance of the river. When we started the wind was NW and it shifted to almost E. We managed to pick up 5 eyes when a the Bee Hive put out a call for help. They were dead in the water S. of Pt. Au Gres. We quickly pulled lines and went and got them. We must have had them in tow for well over an hr. because all I could do safely was about 3 knots pulling the Be Hive. Bad things can happen on the Bay with 6 footers even if you have power. The capt. of the Bee Hive, a 24 ft vessel, was grateful and offered to pay us for our service. I declined payment but he gave us his two walleye because he had his hands full dealing with the boat. Skip S, Martin G, and Fr Charlie were aboard. The toughest part of the ordeal was tying their line to our stern. I had to stay in Neutral and was broached in the waves for a bit.

It was good seeing you too J-Dog. I'll always remember the fun evening runs on the Husky-Jerk. I set up initially and let everyone else catch most of the fish. I'd go back when there were too many lines out of the water. It seemed when we hit one it would turn into a double or a triple. We ran our usual 3 oz off the down rods and 2 oz off the boards all BB. -

Friday we fished just off Pt. A. and then went S. Sat we started S. and finished our limit on a N. troll. I launch Au Gres because it's my closest port. The inner bay is shinning very bright right now. GJ on the shallow water eyes. I love to fish the bars at times. The way the fish are stacked up in the bay it's just best to fish your closest port. TG for what we have available on the Saginaw Bay. -

Let's keep it friendly. The question was legitimate and the mate, and capt. are entitled to a limit of fish. It's a great fishery we all enjoy. Calling someone a fish Nazi is a bit on the harsh side. I'm glad that Gmfishon handled it well and didn't take offense. Please shake hands and come out fishing. -

Dan, GJ out of GH and thanks for the report. -
VG fishing indeed. I'm so glad to hear there are a lot of fish that don't make the grade. We'll catch those fish next year and beyond. Thanks for your report.

Jason set up close by. We talked a bit on the radio. There are a lot of fish in the system with all year classes well represented. Our future looks bright. -
Two different crews 2 days same results. 4 person limits. We fished 29-35 FOW pulling bouncers and meat. Saturday we pulled lines @ 9:40 AM. All colors were good but dirty copper, and some UVs were doing most of the damage. Most of our fish were scraped off the bottom. It was a pleasure fishing with Jack W, Don M, Mike T, Roger L, Skip S, and Karl M. Several multiples. Friday we caught over 30 keepers and about 10 shorts. Saturday we caught 23 keepers and 3 shorts. 1.5 MPH with a change up pitch every now and then. When everyone does there thing well it is a pleasure to fish. Gotta Luv that Bay.

Nice work Mike. Gotta Luv what we have going in this great state. Thanks for the good reports. The Saginaw Bay is really starting to shine. This fishery is second to none with consistent catches year after year. I may just see my way clear to get out there for a couple of days. I have had a lot going on that kept me on shore. Time to turn up the heat on those tasty walleye. I hope to see you on the pond. It's always good to know when friends are in the area.
