What a day to be on the Bay. Two of us picked up 9 Walleye yesterday evening. We only had 2 throw backs and all the fish were just eaters. 13-15 FOW 2 oz. BB with crawler harnesses 1MPH. Color didn't seem to matter. Here is a pic of 5 of them, just before I cleaned them. I would be willing to trade a fishing tip, or make room for a GLFer wanting to fish the Saginaw Bay.

There is nothing wrong with making a profit, and my post says nothing about that. My thread is about ads that do not mention a price, and that is the number one question on peoples minds. The thread was not directed at any individuals, but it has put some on the defensive. In the past I posted price question marks right in someones ad thread. As for someone forgetting to put in a price, I don't think so. I apologize if I offended anyone that was NOT my intent. I do know something about ads, and leaving the price out is not the way to go.

I'm new to leadcore use, but the outer shield is a low stretch braid like the super lines. The braids do hold up longer than mono. Before using any rods the first time in the spring the line should be re-tied and a line determination made. The knots can tell you a lot.

You got it right Rich. I think they are supposed to have a web site with net locations on it. I sure hope they mark it well. I sure takes a lot of the relaxed fun out of fishing, when you have to be on the watch for nets. If the post coordinates, I'll try and stay a few miles away.

WTG Mike. It's always GR8 to be out on the Big Water. That East wind has kept us off the water here. Eye-Terminator and I will probably make it out L8 this afternoon. -
Many of you know that plastic boards are available to mount transducers and eliminate making new holes through the transom when changing out equipment. You may also know that you can use plastic cutting boards, from the Mart stores for this purpose, at a fraction of the cost. Another great use for these plastic cutting boards is backing plates for equipment. The plastic is tougher than nails, inexpensive, will not rust, will not rot, and is easy to cut and drill. Use them to cut backers for everything from rod holders to downriggers.

Number one question in most peoples mind is HOW MUCH. Listing the amount of an item for sale does 2 things. If it's way out of someones price range they don't waste their time and yours. The most important thing that it does, is convey a message that the seller is serious about selling. When I see an ad without the price I think the seller probably wants more than it's worth and is ashamed to mention the price.

Priority1 replied to Walleye Express's topic in Walleye Fishing Discussion
WTG Dan. I caught my first Walleye on the Titt, and a quite a few after that. The river owes me two rods and reels, and a ton of jigs. -
The lure package is a GR8 deal. Can participating teams get 2 of them. I already know the answer, but ya can't blame a guy for trying.

Bill, If you notice on my last pic of my boat I have installed 2 Big Jon rod holders on each side. The black ones are Scottys and they will work fine for Walleye but not worth a darn for Dipsys and Salmon fishing. The black Scottys would not hold a dipsy. I did get by with them for awhile by drilling the shaft and putting a cotter pin through, to keep them from poping up. I also put a safety tether on my rods while using them for Salmon. I didn't like or trust them, so I added the 4 Big Jons. I kept one Scotty on each side, but I will not use them for Salmon. Another thing I don't like about the black ones is the rod handles stick into the boat, and I brush them with my legs as I go by. John Williams from Big Jon had some blems, and gave me a GR8 price on the Big Jons. Frank

A two man limit??? 7:00 AM is too early to be back in port drinking beer. A two man limit is 10 fish. If you have 6 Kings and start targeting Steel, or Lakers, you would have to release any Kings that may be caught in the process. Just presenting a scenario that I think is legal under the present rules, but may cause some Kings to be released, or culled. A three man limit, as the rules were before the change, would help somewhat. A long drive with a three or 4 man crew, and a two man limit, may limit participation. I'm NOT b----ing about the rules, and will participate even if you go to one rod and one man limit.

This engine analyzer is in almost new condition. The pic shows it being used to set the carb on my boat 5-03-07. I still have the original box, owners manual, Amp Shunt, all the leads and accessory kit. The meter is LARGE and easy to read. The cheap ones you see advertised are small and a bear to use. The owners manual has detailed instuctions for testing ignition dwell, engine RPM, battery, charging, and starting systems. The model # is 21029. You will NOT be disappointed. $25 Tawas MI area.

I spent a couple of hrs in the driveway fine tuning the engine. Mechanical things done this year. (1) Gimbal Bearing. (2) Bellows, (3) Trim & Trim Limit Senders, (4) Lower Shift Cable, Carb Tear Down new gaskets and adjustments the needles and seats were still like new, (5) Trailer Rollers, (6) Trust me, there has to be more. It was very windy here so after the drive way test, I decided to launch the boat in Tawas and change the trailer rollers in the parking lot. There was only one other truck and trailer there. I then decided to do a shakedown cruise in Tawas Bay. Tawas Point gave the bay some protection, so I was able to put the hammer down going with the 1-1/2 to 2 foot waves. I made a idle speed adjustment on the water, and ended the 1/2 hour cruise. Anyone in the Tawas area that needs to use an Alignment Tool, Timing Light or Dwell Tach, I may be able to help you.

I have used Thompsons Water Seal in the past on boat canvas. I'm sure there are other products for this also. If the seams are the problem I would do the seams first, and then go over the entire canvas. Remove the top from the boat so you dont slop this stuff all over everything.

The easiest way I have found to downsize a pic is to Email it to myself and when asked if you want to make your pic smaller check the yes box. Once you recieve the pic in your Email save it to my pics. I can also do it with my Paint Shop Pro, but it's easier just to Email it. -
