  1. GJ Dan, I put the trailer tires in the water today @ 7:15AM. A fisherman at the dock said he just came back in, and there were 3+ footers out in the open waters. I said TYVM, and headed home. 2 of us boxed 9 fish yesterday, and I'll try again tomorrow. I may try some small spoons on the riggers tomorrow.
  2. The Dipsy rods are long and stiff to take the extremely hard pull of a Diver. You may be able to use them for boards, but I would rather have a 6 or 7 ft rod for them. The dipsy rods long length also helps to keep the rod tip out farther than the out and down riggers.
  3. City water has Chlorine in it, Chlorine is the active ingredient in bleach. If you want try 1/4 cup in the pail for starters, and it may do the job. rinse it off as soon as it destroys the mold. The Mold itself may have already damaged the top.
  4. With leadcore you run all of it out. 2 colors of leadcore is 20 yards, or 10 yards a color. 2 colors will get you down about 10 feet. The 2 colors of core probably has a 50 ft mono leader and a mono or braid backer. In addition to the 2 colors of core he probably ran out another 50 ft or more of backer. It's NOT a good idea to run two colors out on a 10 color setup. The releases and rod tip will tear up the leadcore.
  5. 10# for Walleye trolling. 25# for Salmon. I would run 20 for Salmon but I got a deal on some 25#. I haven't seen anything negative about the 25# yet. I use 6 or 8 # on my jigging rods.
  6. VN Toxic.
  7. TYVM for the offer Terry, if only I was 150 miles closer. LOL:)
  8. WTG, Keep on slamin em. Little things can make a huge difference.
  9. WTG, It's GR8 just to get out on the water. I think we are seeing the June Salmon Lull.
  10. I like taking some time with the kids. It's GR8 when they want to go places, and do things with us. In a few years I'll have him setting lines. They grow up way too fast. Enjoy every minute you can with the kids.
  11. Those weren't shakers, they were shivers. LOL It's always good to get out on the big water.
  12. You shouldn't have a problem running 4 rods off two riggers and 2 Dipsys. If one of the riggers go, you could bring the fish in up the chute or swing the rigger back and play the fish off the corner. A good wheel man can keep that fish any place you want it.
  13. A warm welcome 2 U Andrew. U will like it here.
  14. Try a half cup of bleach and some laundry detergent in a pail of water. Scrub with a stiff brush. Leave the suds sit on the problem spots for a few minutes. Caution: DO NOT use dish detergent or Ammonia with bleach. Most dish detergents have some ammonia in them.
  15. Nick,It is GR8 just to get out on the water. The fish are just a bonus. The fish act differently as a storm goes through. Sometimes they turn on just before the storm, but seem to get lock jaw right afterwards.
  16. Welcome aboard Matt. You will like it here. :Yellowtail:
  17. WTG Ed. I can't wait to pull my boat across M55 and hit Manistee a few times this Summer. It would be great if they pulled most of those nets before I get there. Manistee has never let me down.
  18. WTG Terry. I'm in need of a King fix real soon.
  19. GJ Skip. We ran a similar program Sat. except we used bouncers. Orange was what made em go for us also. We had some tough conditions North. That S. wind had us in 2-3 foot waves when we cleared the points near AuGres.
  20. You can count me in on the pig roast. I like one good meal a day. Sandwiches and munchies get me by while on the boat.
  21. GJ Dan. I bounced around out on the Bay today also. I had my 4 yo grandson aboard, so it was not about numbers today. We just tried to get a few fish on, and make it a fun experience for him. I'm still using crawlers. We got the skunk out before I put out the second board. We hit our spot and kept going with the waves. I didn't want to go back against the waves with a rookie driver. We were getting hit with some 3 foot waves. For those of you that never fished the Sag Bay, the waves are close together and will beat the heck out of you and your equipment. I would rather fish 6 foot waves in open water a 100 ft deep, than to tackle 3 footers on the Bay. Five out of the last seven days on the water. I'm taking a break tomorrow, and get my equipment back up to snuff. Darn I need to man the lawnmower also.
  22. My 4yo grandson's first Walleye. The kids are my Priority1. I think he's hooked.
  23. I don't like them at all for Salmon fishing. They are fine for Walleye. I don't own one, but used one on my brother's boat. I always lift the net vertical to close the bag and lock em in.
  24. GJ Russ. I'm in need of some Salmon Slamin.
