  1. GJ Salmonquest. At least you hooked a couple of them. I never fished that far North. The farthest N. that I have fished is Rogers City area. That's God's country up there. Oops I just told a fib. I fished Grand Marais many moons ago.
  2. Welcome to the site Daddyo. I hope to see you @ my favorite Lake MI Port. I try and make a few trips a yr to Manistee. Our best action comes before daylight. It sure is going to be a different game with the nets, especially fishing in the dark. I fish mostly on Lake Huron's Saginaw Bay. Can't wait to do some Salmon Slamin.
  3. I made two trips out of AuGres yesterday. I picked up 4 fish in the morning, then got invited on JWheelers boat for an evening trip. We went out to Jason's favorite spot and did manage a nice 6 to 6-1/2# Walleye along with a few smaller fish. TYVM Jason. Gotta Luv it. 2 trips in one day kicks this old timers A$$. It's always easier to go with someone on their boat. There is a lot to do before and after the trip especially for the boat owner. TYVM Jason. I owe you 2 trips. Both trips were fished in 29-37 FOW. We pulled harnesses behind bouncers, spoons, tots, and reef runners. Meat was the best for us but the fish were coming slow. I'm shifting gears, and getting ready for some Salmon Slamin, with the Walleye Whacking taking a back seat.
  4. GJ Mike. It will definitely make the site more user friendly.
  5. WTG Slammer. I'm shifting gears and going from Walleye to Salmon. Can't wait for some Salmon Slamin.
  6. Crawler harnesses with inline weights or bottom bouncers will get the job done. If the cranks are doing the job go with it. You can cover more water pulling cranks. If the Walleye seem to have lock jaw give em the meat from .7 to 1.7 MPH.
  7. I have always used the #1 Dipsys, with and without the std ring, with great success. I did buy a few of the Monster rings to try on my low divers, when we are marking a lot of deep fish. The Dipsy has been my most productive presentation. Love the Dipsy Hootchie Mamma Squid combo.
  8. I would like to fish the WI side sometime. Keep the reports coming.
  9. GJ Captain. One of my favorite setups is the flasher fly or squid.
  10. WTG Bob. With that chummer on board you should have taken FIRST.
  11. Wow!! I observe Bald Eagles all the time up here. In the Winter months when things get real quiet up here, I see them on the beaches. They do rule. I never thought they would go for a Deer. You should see the Gulls scatter when a Bald Eagle is around.
  12. GJ Andy. Late July and August I will be Salmon Slamin. Still whacking Walleyes here.
  13. GJ Al. I always wanted to fish the big O.

Just dial your number Mike. If a fish answers keep him on the line. LOL It's a good idea to put your billfold, and other stuff that may work out of a pocket, in a bag on the boats dash. Leaning on the boat fighting a fish can work things out of you pockets and into the drink.
  15. GJ Mike. Wishin I was Salmon Slamin.
  16. Keep experimenting Dan. Last time out I spent a lot of time searching. I did find some fish, but it was almost time to go in. I'm slowly shifting away from the Walleye, and getting ready for Salmon Slamin. I may check out the weather for tomorrow and see if I can get those fish I found to go. All of June and the first week in July was FANTASTIC for me. The Saginaw Bay is second to none.
  17. There are only a few of us that post from E. side of Michigan also. I post some reports from Lake Huron's Saginaw Bay. The site is relatively new, but as more people join from the different areas the reports get better. Try posting some reports, and maybe it will take off on your side of Lake Michigan. Encourage others from your area to join us.
  18. Most of these have little or no control over the participants.
  19. You nailed it Long Line. There is little or no control. Sometimes it's the best cheater wins.
  20. GJ Andge. I'm going to start concentrating on the Salmon soon. We pounded the Walleye, and they are starting to scatter now.
  21. You guessed er Chester. Just like a lot of local fishing contest.
  22. Yes,, the C/G will assist in many ways. They will call a tow service for you. They will also maintain periodic radio contact with you, and make sure the conditions haven't changed from bad to worse.
  23. WTG Phil. I can't wait to do some Salmon Slamin. The Walleye here are starting to scatter. It's time to get my Salmon gear out and inspected.
  24. GL Bob.
