  1. WTG Jim. We do get a few bonus days in Oct and Nov.
  2. Sounds like my kind of recipe. Do you use any water??
  3. Thanks for the report. I will be doing some perch fishing when the winds are right.
  4. My brother made a Lineup Bar for me, last year. If anyone works in a machine shop and needs the dimensions for one let me know. This bar will work on the Mercruisers, OMCs and some Volvos. They recommend checking the alignment between the Gimbal Bearing and the engine coupler every time the outdrive is pulled. It is a MUST when the engine coupler and or Gimbal Bearing is changed. If there is any misalignment it can ruin the bearing, or worse the engine coupler. Anyone in my area that needs to use this tool give me a shout. These bars cost anywhere between $60-$100 not including shipping. They are heavy.
  5. Thanks for the all the info Dan. Every sportsman in the state should be on this.
  6. Yes the colors are that of the blue and green dolphins. I think it should be made.
  7. Jason, I never payed to have one done. If you need any help let me know. You may want to put a small amount of heat in the engine compartment on these frosty morns. I never worked on an OMC. It may be a good idea to pick up a Seloc Manual that covers your rig. The Engines are the same as Mercruisers.
  8. GJ Terry. Persistence pays off.
  9. I thought I had a ton of spoons.
  10. I changed the engine oil in mine a few weeks back, but I will probably use it at least a few more times. My garage never freezes but I winterize the boat about mid Dec just because it's so easy. I like playing it safe. I heat my garage only when I'm going out there to work. I wash my car and truck and do what is needed on the boat, all through the long Winter.
  11. You got that right bro. Anytime I see substantial waves coming over a break-wall my A$$ is staying on shore. I do however like to watch in Awe. VN pics Mike.
  12. W.T.H. are they going to do with the extra license fees they will collect next yr? Give the politicians enough rope, and they will belly up this great state. What needs to be cut is their HUGE benefit package, and put them all on part time.
  13. TYVM for giving us a place to hang.
  14. WTG Terry. Pheasant hunting was one of my favorite things. Wishing I was 30 years younger. I grew up hunting Pheasants. In the late 50s and 60s I hunted behind two German Short Hair Bitches. Those two dogs were fantastic. Sometimes we would walk the RR tracks and the dogs would work the edges. Sometimes we would get our limit without getting off the RR tracks. The good old days. I'm afraid my legs wouldn't hold up to brush tramping anymore.
  15. Not a pump, but what I use is a hose that stays connected to the oil pan. When it's time to drain the oil the hose fits through the bilge drain hole, and I drain the oil into a container outside the boat. The hose and fittings cost $20. IF anyone needs a link for this setup let me know.
  16. WOW!!! even a Bite Me Elmo. If I needed some spoons, I would jump on this one.
  17. Nailer, Thanks for posting those pics of the Mighty Mac. I crossed the Straights many of times, before and after the bridge. I crossed the Straights in 1957 just a few months before they opened the bridge. I was 12 yo. 50 years later I walked it for the second time.
  18. Welcome aboard Kyle. You will like it here. If fish Lake Huron and it's Saginaw Bay, wit ha few trips a year to Lake Michigan. Looking forward to your reports.
  19. GJ Bill, Persistence pays off sometimes.
  20. A warm welcome to B W. You will like it here. The site is very user friendly, but if you do need help with anything give a shout.
  21. Good Report Mike, but sorry for the lost fish. Anything that slides down a line has the potential to mess up a swivel snap. On all my rigger rods I put a fairly large plastic bead on the line before tying on the swivel. If I use a slider on the rod it will stop at the bead and not get into the swivel snap. On leadcore some anglers use speed beads to prevent this snafu. You want to keep the board out of the fishes face. I also use a bead on the leadcore leader and just snap on another 6 ft slider leader to keep the board @ least 6 ft away from the fish. The extra 6 ft slider does the job but I was thinking about getting a few speed beads when I run across them.
  22. WOW!!!! Double Congrats to you Steve.
  23. Sounds encouraging. I fished more for walleye this year than ever before. Most every time out I had some rookies onboard. It wasn't difficult to get them to go again, because of the great fishery. Even my 4 yo grandson yells "inside or outside board", when we hook a fish. Gotta Luv the Sag Bay. Gotta Luv seeing a kid catch his or her first walleye.
  24. Congrats Steve. I'm glad your daughter and her baby are doing fine.
  25. Hush up Tim. I was just going to ask Cazz if he wanted to come over and straighten up my garage. Nice neat garage Cazz. I just started cleaning mine up. I have to give it a good clean up once a year, but it probably needs it more than that. Any legal buck with a bow deserves a ^5 no matter what DV8oR says. (JK) Tim
