  1. I'm glad you was able to get out before this Jan thaw takes the ice out.
  2. Welcome to the site. Use the same split ring the treble hook used to attach the single hook. The point of the hook should be towards the concave part of the spoon.
  3. WTG Ed. The time with your daughter, and a master angler fish to boot. It doesn't get any better than that.
  4. You got the pink and white right for fishing the Titt. I always favored the pink jig with a white twister tail. I have never seen any lures like that, but they sure look like they would produce.
  5. 2-Penn 310 GTI Reels $32 each SOLD 1-Penn 209 Reel $22 SOLD 4-Diawa 47SH Reels $32 each SOLD ON ANOTHER SITE 1-Penn #9 VG Condition. $18 I don't have a rod for this one. (small reel) SOLD ON ANOTHER SITE All the reels are used, but in good working condition. All have good drags and strong clickers. All the reels have been serviced this week, (Oil, Grease, Function check). One of the Diawas is missing a trim cap over the reel handle screw, but functions just fine. The Diawas have a 5.1 to 1 gear ratio for super fast retrieve. Buy 2 or more and get downrigger rods with them. The rods are Eagleclaws and are in usable condition. All these rods and reels came with my boat, and I used them for walleye the last few years. They all have 10# test line on top of a heavier mono. They probably should be re-spooled. The Penn #9 is not spooled. PM me if interested.
  6. It's not a good idea to run part of the leadcore. The leadcore would be damaged by the tip, and you would have to put the core in planer board release. Just NOT a good idea.
  7. The Kings were smaller on average last season. I may use a few of my Walleye set ups as stealth rods. I usually spool my 20 size walleye reels with 10#. I could even spool a few of my Walleye rigs with 12. Before I had two different set ups I would spice 100 yds of 10# to my 17# line, on my Salmon reels, to double as walleye rigs. Maybe splicing some 12# to your heavier backer will "GIT ER DONE" Something to think about.
  8. If anyone ever needs an old slug to fill out a crew, I may be available if the perks are good. Also if anyone has mechanical problems the Priority1 may be able to change names for a tourney or two. It's a long way for me to the West side, but it sure was worth the trip last year to shake a few hands, and put some faces with the famous handles. I do most of my fishing Mon-Fri.
  9. I have some of the same rods in the 8 ft version. A free Storm Lure and a 10 yr warranty for $14.
  10. This year my resolution is, to never make another resolution.
  11. The first pic was taken on the Saginaw Bay on a June Walleye trip. I had a Grandfather, Son, Grandson onboard. The grandson, Cas, caught his first walleye. The second pic is my grandson Alex, holding his first walleye. I have more fun fishing when there are kids onboard.
  12. I ended up with a 2-1/2 yo doe. The only problem, there was $3300 damage to my car. Oh well! No one was hurt except the deer. This was the first deer with a car for me, although I have had some real close calls. I haven't hunted in about 10 years. I sold my place in St. Charles along with 27 acres. I was spoiled. My son still hunts some private land in that area, and always does well.
  13. It looks like ReelJerks posted this Fish Hawk for sale, and hasn't been back since.
  14. Nice pic Dan. My oldest Grandson is named Jacob also.
  15. Now that's funny. I don't care who you are. LMAO:lol:
  16. "Are there water pipes under the Chistmas tree?" Is this a CRACK @ Plumbers? Merry Christmas All
  17. Enjoy the Winter Phil. This old-timer is holing up until Spring.
  18. Welcome to the site Frank. Anyone named Frank that runs a Starcraft Islander can't be all bad. I know you will like it here.
  19. VN video.
  20. A Peanut was our go to lure behind the cowbells when we had to target the Lakers for a tourney. Sometimes the weirdest colors were the best. We had one that was a dark olive drab color that used to knock em dead. We would run this set up just off the bottom, and sometimes put a beat up cannonball on the adjacent rigger, and let the beat up cannonball tick bottom. We wouldn't have a rod on the bouncing rigger. When the Lakers didn't go for the trash and flash, some times just a clean spoon in their face would do the trick.
  21. VN Rd. It will be great to glance up at that monster, and recall the time of your life fishing with the famous SEA MAC.
  22. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. COME ON SPRING.
  23. Here is one I built last Winter. I did add a S.S.saddle type support in the middle where the block is. I can pivot it down, by pulling two pins, to clear my 10 ft. high door. A good friend and fishing buddy, has a heliarc welder, so we can make about anything for our boats. A 7/8 inch dia. S.S. Tube runs through the larger dia. rod holder tubes. The 7/8 inch tube also acts as a conduit for the light wires. I usually start scrounging up materials before I draw up any plans. This pic was taken before it was finished. The rod holders angle back, when in the up position, and the pins are in place.
  24. The season is always open on window peckers. Get out the shotgun.
  25. Sounds like a fun time. Wish I was a lil closer.
