I have my CPU over clocked so much that it burns the dust off as we go.

I used the GLM from the Aftermarket Discount Marine site.

Will the software upgrade increase my typing speed??? Try and make it to the BULL session every Wed about 8:00 PM. It's a GR8 feature of this site that is under utilized. Questions and Answers flow freely.

Man those Lake O Kings. The Kings on Lake Huron are scarce as hens teeth. We did venture out on Lake Michigan a few times this past year but overall the Size of fish seemed to average about 5# lighter than the 06 Kings. I would post some pics but I'm Afraid the Lake O boys would say they use them for bait. I sure would like to take a week or two and fish Lake Ontario.

I just use some 8 ft downrigger rods. I run some of my B.B. off in-line boards. The rods for drifting or trolling with B.B. is not that critical, as when jigging.

It takes about 1 to 1-1/2 hrs. It is a good idea to have someone inside and outside the boat. I did mine last Winter. Make up an extra deep 9/16 socket. The standard depth 9/16 deep socket is not deep enough. Buy two CHEAP 9/16 deep sockets 3/8 drive and weld them together. Probably a deep and a regular one welded together would work also. They sell a special wrench for this but it's EZ to make. I'll see if I can find the link for that repair. I did mine while replacing the bellows, Gimbal Bearing, and trim senders. I just remembered something, a 1/4 inch pipe tap may be needed. I had to use one. http://www.amarket.com/shifin.htm This Site is also a good place to purchase it. http://www.amarket.com/im519.htm Here is another link to a site I had stored. It explains what may be happening, and why, when you shift gears. http://www.sterndrives.com/supplies/mdtips02.html I also replaced some bushings on the shift shaft.

Jason, If you are working a lot this Summer just leave me your keys. I'll fill my cooler in the morning and yours in the evening. I had a blast last Summer most every time out. I had my 4 yo grandson out a few times, and he was very enthusiastic the whole time. I think he's hooked.

I fish the bay Mon-Fri April-July weather permitting. I venture out on the weekends only if the weather keeps me on shore during the week. Yes the bay was consistently FANTASTIC the last few years. The size of the walleyes has been down a little but the numbers are GR8. I did manage to boat a 9# and a few that were 7s last year. Come on Spring. Limits were the norm. Jason, this threads initiator even gave me a couple of rides in the afternoon on the "Husky Jerk". I think both times I was out on my own boat in the morning and on Jason's boat in the evening. TYVM Wheels. It just don't get any better. Good idea for the Saginaw Bay Column. The size and Quality of this section of Lake Huron certainly warrants it's own section. I fish mostly out of AuGres, but I venture S. to the inner bay until the water starts to warm up. I run a tan 22 ft. Starcraft Islander Hardtop called Priority1. Give me a shout on 68 if you see me.

The Dipsys require a stout rod and a substantial rod holder. The plastic Scotty Rod holder is not up to this. I tried the Scottys for one season. I drilled and pinned them to keep them for popping up. I also tethered my rods, while using them. The next year I went with some BigJon rod holders. I was afraid I was going to lose a rod reel.

Caznik's 1st Annual Stinger Stingray Euchre Tournament
Priority1 replied to caznik's topic in General Discussion
I sure do wish I lived a little closer. The vittles alone could draw me half way there. I love to play euchre and pound the table. -
You can run a spoon behind a dodger or flasher but for the most part the spoon is run clean. The spoons have their own action as do most plugs. Meat rigs, flies, and squid are run behind the flashers. When thing are not happening I do something different. It's NOT against my rules to run a spoon or plug behind a dodger. I don't think I ever run spoons behind a flasher.

A warm welcome to you James. I fish Lake Huron's Saginaw Bay for walleye and lake perch. I make a few trips a year to Lake Michigan for some salmon slammin. You will like it here. If you need any information or help just sing out.

This one is difficult to figure out. NAFTA & CAFTA has sent thousands of industrial jobs out of this state. The Auto and other industries are hurting, and people are leaving the area at record rates. Throw in high fuel prices, and DAMN I wonder why GL fishing is declining. I guess we can be thankful that we are still able to enjoy the sport. How much longer????????????

Whats Your Favorite Brand of Spoon for Lake Michigan

I know some of you have boats slipped and it would be a bugger to fish this one. I'm offering rides if anyone wants to fish this one with me. My boat will fish 4 people comfortably, and 5 or 6 if we play musical chairs. Heck I'm on my feet 90% of the time anyway. Roger69 and JWheeler have first dibs on fishing this one with me, and JWheeler just may want to fish his rig and try and put the Priority1 down a peg or two. One thing about the Saginaw Bay it's different than fishing over deep water. 3 and 4 foot waves are not a problem most of the time at the deep water ports, but they are spaced a lot closer on the bay. Threes and fours will put most of us back at the dock. Deep water in the bay is 30-45 ft. with most of it being far less.

Mine is Frank. I put my first name on my Avatar just so no one will say hey you.

This is for the ice fisherman...

Be careful out there. -
I use a White Sparkle fly once in awhile, but I most always use a green glow squid behind a flasher or dodger. I sometimes start with a Dipsy Flasher Fly combo and on the other side the same, but with a glow squid instead of the fly. I have run both flasher fly, flasher squid off the riggers but mostly I run them behind the Dipsys.

I can remember a couple of trips that my Father and Mother took me on, but I'm not sure of the exact order. One was a spur of the moment type trip to the Saginaw Bay for some Perch fishing. I think there was a problem at my dads workplace, so he was back home before noon. Mom packed a lunch my dad went and borrowed my uncles outboard motor, and they took my brother and I out perch jerking. We rented a boat near Bay City and fished just off the weeds not far out from the harbor. We were all pulling in perch, with a lot of doubles. My dad and my brother Jack have both passed on, but these memories always remain. I did take my brother Jack on his last fishing trip also. We were Salmon Slammin in Manistee August 2006.

Bob, I tried your recipe and it's as good as any I have tried. I like the flavor of the browned corn meal. The peanut oil does make a difference. I'm going to try some popcorn popped in peanut oil. The only trouble I ran into with the recipe, was after the 9th beer I kept missing the pie tin with the wooden spoon and had to go to the E.R. to have wood splinters removed from my neck and shoulder. Other than that it's one Hell of a recipe.

Two (New) Walker Stacking Line Releases. These are not available in the stores anymore. Any one that likes the Walker releases will like these. These releases stay on the rigger cable. There is a white clip that holds them to the downrigger boom until you are ready to set them. You just pull up on them and they lock to the cable with a small metal cam wheel. The releases are the metal ones. $30 for the pair. $4 should handle the shipping.

A warm welcome to you Andrew. I fish out of a 22 ft Starcraft Islander. I fish mostly for Walleye and Perch on the Saginaw Bay. I also make a few trips a year to Lake Michigan for some Salmon Slammin. You will like it here. PM me if you need any help.

I have eaten Walleye, Perch, and Bluegills Roe, but I have never tried the salmon eggs. Pan fish roe fried, doesn't taste much different than the fish.
