  1. I like the Walker releases also. Did you ever use these Walker stackers??
  2. The wire should come off the bottom of the spool and on to the bottom of the Cannon. If it starts to twist let it come off the top for awhile.
  3. GJ Wheels. I'll be on the water sometime this week.
  4. At least you made it out on this gorgeous day. I did a little garage cleaning, and washed the car and truck. I'll be on the water sometime this week.
  5. And if your in that neighborhood, may as well stop at Linwood Corners Restaurant. Nice looking flies Yooper.
  6. I'm glad you found and fixed the problem. It helps when you have the tools you need. I knew you would "Git er dun".
  7. WTG Joe. I will make my first trip sometime this week.
  8. Congrats Bill.
  9. GJ Bill. Mine will be in the water sometime this week. I tested mine in the yard Saturday, and I'm ready to go. Did that football have a hitchhiker? Looks like a lamprey scar.
  10. I just throw them on the dash and untangle as needed. Seriously, I have a divided Plano see through box and the flies are wound on some small foam cylinders, and placed individually in one of the sections.
  11. FANTASTIC. Wish I could have been there.
  12. I found the 1/8 ID 3/16 OD tubing in a hardware. It only cost 11 cents a foot.
  13. I still run glow squid behind a flasher or dodger, mostly on a Dipsy. If you think about it, it's not all that much different than a fly. The action imparted by the flasher and the glow combination make a killer presentation in low light conditions. We also run glow squid teasers ahead of out meat rigs. The glow squid is a cheap effective bait, that gets overlooked. The squids see a lot of action in the salt waters also. I have been running them for years. Sometimes old stuff gets put on the shelf to make way for the new. There are a couple of places on eBay that sell them cheap.
  14. I have an older LMS-350 Lowrance GPS Sonar combo that still does the job. I think it's about 15 years old. I probably should upgrade, but I'm dinosaur myself. Oh! I just notice this is your first post. A warm welcome to you Paul. If you get a chance, post a little about yourself in the welcome forum. Let us know if you need any help.
  15. LMAO Cazz. I been wanting to add some trees, and the guy that welded them talked me into doing it this year. I did the cutting and fitting on his and mine and he welded them. They are nice for boards and I may even run my high divers in the lower ones.
  16. As of Friday 2:00 PM you can launch small boats at Tawas River and the DNR Launch. The docks were NOT in at the DNR launch. AuGres DNR launch is ice free with one dock in.
  17. I don't see you Jason. Unless you moved. Ohhhhhhh! I see you just put in a pic of your boat.
  18. Welcome aboard Jimmy B. You will like it here. I fish Lake Huron and its Saginaw Bay. I also make a few trips to Lake Michigan.
  19. Metals are high right now so I ended up having about $100. Heck I had $2 each for those black end caps times 8. MO MONEY.
  20. Anybody wanting to fish the Saginaw Bay for Walleye I would be happy to have you. A trip swap would be GR8.
  21. Do it by Zip Code.
  22. Mine did also yooper. Just put it back. I was still in their system but my pin got removed accidentally.
  23. I run harnesses behind inline boards and if I'm targeting the 30 foot range at about 1.5 MPH or less I would be back about 50 55 with 2 oz bouncers. Best bet is to let it back slowly and when you first feel it tick bottom bring it up slightly if you are targeting the bottom. If you want to be up 10 ft off the bottom you may have to reel in about 15 ft of line to take into account the angle of the line. I don't usually think of how far down the walleye are, I put my hat on backwards and think how far up from the bottom they are. I seldom run inline weights or snap weights with harnesses. Most of the time you will find the eyes suspended just off bottom, but at times they will be anyplace in the water column. This method has the lines not far out and about at a 45 degree angle. Most of the times this works well, but at times a lighter weights and farther back offers a different presentation. Everyone finds a method that works well for them. With walleye speed is very critical. Sometimes pulling harnesses we will be around 0.8 MPH. I tie my own harnesses and make them 4 or 5 ft long. I'm going to be trying some 1 and 2 oz Dive Bombs this year. The Stinger reps told me to expect about one and a half times more depth per oz using the DBs. I wish they would come up with a dive curve. Like always, "Find out what they want and give em lots of it".
  24. That is so cool. Something to play back the middle of next Winter, when your withdrawal symptoms start intensifying.
