  1. TY Dan. I missed my window to go out earlier this week. I know they weren't out there today.
  2. You better tone it down a lil Cazz. If I start hearing that thing way over here, I'm coming after you. All I have for a radio is a boom box that the former owner placed on the dash. I seldom use it.
  3. VN Fishsniffer. A big TYVM to Phil for posting the pic. Like I always say, "You can never have too many rod holders. Cazz the Cop will be warning you about a fine for too many Rodholders. They look GR8.
  4. Years ago, (I'm talking 50s and 60s) there was a form that you could fill out and get the tax back for boat use. I think they did away with this. I know charter boats are run as a business and they deduct expenses, and I think they get the whole road tax back. I don't see why GLF couldn't be set up as a internet business, and the boat used to advertise and take members fishing. The boat is a big part of GLF. Al fuel used in business vehicles is deductible, and I think you get the tax back also. The whole thing. Mo than one way around the barn.
  5. YW Mike. I worked a lot with SS pipe, before I retired. Power Houses and Chemical plants use a ton of it. It seems that any grade of SS is ok for fresh water. Even the lower grades will not rust. The salt water users have to go with the very best SS.
  6. Those colors should be deadly on the bay.
  7. The 316 is a better grade of SS than the 302 or 304. The 316 has more nickel and chrome, and is more corrosion resistant. Watch your rigger wire for kinks and abrasions. Play it extra safe with the rigger with the probe.
  8. eBay:) This place is in Manistee and has one listed on eBay. It's a NOS (new old stock). AA Marine. $25 includes shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FARIA-BOAT-VOLTMETER-GAUGE-MARINE-GAGE-1980S-NOS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247QQcategoryZ26444QQihZ023QQitemZ360018584866QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V Do a search on eBay I saw some for under $10 including shipping.
  9. When you read 16v with just the key on engine not running, that is a dead give a way that the gauge is bad. The battery alone will only read around 13V. With engine running alternator will put out 14-14.5v.
  10. It looks good Cazz. Jammin and Salmon Slammin. Cazz ROCKS.
  11. The pic I posted are of Walker Stackers. These tread on the rigger cable and are free sliding until you pull up on them and a cam wheel locks them to the cable. The white deals are used to hold the releases to the boom until you reach the point that you want to lock them.
  12. Very Nice Jason. She rides as good as she looks.
  13. The CG should drag every SQ YD of the area and charge it's expenses to the tribe. Lost nets WTH.
  14. A big 10-4 on the tinsel fly inside a glow squid. I have used them before and have some on order. I thought you were going to use the squid like a teaser ahead of the fly, like many do with meat rigs.
  15. Thanks for the report. I used to fish those bridges. One year we took the boat and anchored in Lindy's cut, and caught mostly doubles. They were hitting even bare gold hooks.
  16. I run a lot of #4 and #5. I like the glows.
  17. Last year was not our best year for large Kings. We did take some limits. I only made 4 trips to Lake Michigan last year for Kings. 06 was a much better year for us. I did manage a 9# 30-1/2 inch walleye in 07, and more limits than not. Here is my nephew off Manistee on my boat.
  18. GL 2 U also Bob. I'll make my first trip sometime this week.
  19. I know some that tie heavy mono to the reel and splice the wire to it with the albright knot, or reverse albright.
  20. The docks are in @ the Tawas DNR Launch. There is some ice floating around the harbor.
  21. Heres a little twist to a GR8 recipe. Try making the chowder with smoked salmon. All I had was smoked salmon.
  22. No these will not work on coated cable. Walker doesn't make them anymore, but I have some. They have a cam wheel that locks them to the uncoated cable.
  23. Always good to get the first one behind you.
  24. WTG Cazz. I'll get on the water sometime this week.
  25. I think some were using the Albright and Reverse Albright. OOOOPs Sorry that was for splicing.
