  1. These Toughbooks are built to Military specs. They will take a licking and keep on ticking. I have cleaned the keyboards under a medium stream of running water. I have even did this with one unit running. Don't try that with a regular laptop. They will also take some bumps and drops. A commercial shows a closed toughbook being run over by a Hummer. They have a strong magnesium frame and look and live up to their name. These have Office, Antivirus, and other software loaded. They are ready to use. I have used one of these exclusively for 5 years. Y'all know I fish a lot. Looking at a big almost square screen gives you a whole new perspective of the waters you fish.
  2. These are both running Windows 7 Pro. Loaded with all the Great Lake Charts. These are in good condition and can be used on and off the boat. These come complete with GPS receivers, AC chargers, and DC chargers. These are complete working tested systems. Personal demonstration or phone help if needed. These are simple to master with most tasks performed with keyboard shortcuts. Example: Zoom in is Control Key and Z, Zoom out is Control Key and X, and Man Overboard is Control Key and Spacebar. Easy to learn. These are sunlight viewable. Off course these are WIFI ready and can connect to the internet with a ethernet cable also. No internet connection is necessary for these to function as a GPS Chartplotter. $400 each. Thank You for viewing.
  3. I know it's not on the shelf yet. Things are evolving fast. I may load it on a Toughbook soon. I think MS needs to get this one right. 8 got shunned like the plague. and the there was Vista. I had a short term with the POS ME a while back. 98-2 and XP were GR8.
  4. Has anyone tried MS Windows 10? From what I gather it kinda blends W8 and W7 together. I have been playing with some Toughbooks so I may just load 10 on one of them and see how it goes. I just though I'd ask before trying it.
  5. Doug, A warm to the GLF site. You'll find a lot of helpful people here. I'm looking forward to some of your reports.
  6. Bob, Sounds like a good one.
  7. This one is SOLD I have two more on hand but they are out of this price range. I'll be looking at some more soon and if any meet my specifications I'll get them. I'll list some more soon. If you are interested contact me. Thanks
  8. I fish the Saginaw Bay a lot. I have two sonar units on my boat a color Garmin and a B/W LMS 350 combo. I mostly use the B/W old as the hills Lowrance Combo. I don't rely on the old combo for GPS rather I use a 13" Toughbook. For some reason that old LMS 350 B/W will pick up those bottom hugging walleye better than other Sonars. The bay is so full of walleye I was marking a ton of fish in the 10-18 FOW and deeper. You can spend the money if you want but it isn't at all necessary. But what the heck us boys and our toys.
  9. Anyone use the Fish Catcher flashers by Bechhold?? I use to run them with great success. My focus is on walleye now. http://www.fishcatcher.com/index.php/flashers
  10. The handles have been sold and shipped on another site. I think the reels have been spoken for also. SOLD
  11. I think it's finally safe to put the Brass Monkey back outdoors.
  12. I sent you a PM with my email address and a link to a site tutorial for uploading and putting pics to your post. Anything we can do to help just holler.
  13. Good deal for the seller and buyer. I'll close the thread. SOLD
  14. It's always good to include the price and some pics. If you need any help with the pics I'd surely help with that. It sounds like a nice rig.

It's been cold here but not as bad as the UP. We pick up an occasional Northern when fishing the weeds for walleye. We have to baby them in when they take a crawler harness. We have boated some close to 40". The shallow waters surrounding the Saginaw Bay are ideal for Pike. We have also had walleye come in easy then get real hard and then easy again. When the walleye were finally netted the teeth marks showed why the tug was greater in the middle of the fight. I keep the ones I catch for myself and a widow lady that lives nearby. She complimented me for getting all the Y bones out.
  16. I don't think the hum spooks fish especially Kings. That rigger wire whine from the wind along with the cable blow back and bend in the Dipsy rods was our indicators for proper speed before we had all the good stuff. Personally I don't mind that eerie hum of the wires but to some it's like fingernails on a chalkboard.
  17. Al, All good stuff. Stray electrical current can be a problem land and sea.

Bob, Sounds like a good one. Get on down here this Spring or Summer and we'll whack some walleye.
  19. It should be successful. Love the video.
  20. Very interesting. "A U.S. Coast Guard report said the Anderson was the last ship in radio contact with the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald before it sank in a Lake Superior storm in 1975 killing all 29 onboard."
  21. These have never been used. Since I took the pic I located another one. 2/$15 3/$20 These should mail for about $3. Thanks A friend is coming over to look at some of my excess Daiwa Sealine LC reels. I may have a few to sell if anyone is interested. Probably a few SG27LCs:) I'll have to wait and take count.
  22. I just had some questions come in so I thought I'd answer them here in case others are wondering the same thing. One question was about a trade. Of course cash is King but if I can use the items I'd consider a trade. Another question was about WIFI and yes this can be used like a laptop. It is in fact an extra heavy duty laptop that weighs around 8#s. If you look closely at some of the screen shots bottom towards the right you'll see the full 5 bar signal being received. One thing that I want to make clear is WIFI is NOT required for the chartplotter to perform. These screen shots have been done in my basement with a good GPS signal. With SeaClear and zoomed all the way in it will show about 2 miles N-S and E-W Another person wanted some screen shots of the Big Sable Point area. I fished that area a quite a bit in the past. These of course are displayed on a 13.3 inch screen.
