  1. Welcome aboard DC.
  2. GJ Ray. Good report.
  3. He is HOOKED. He will be the "Walleye Mike" of the GLF site. He is dreaming about tattle flags and bottom bouncers We are all so fortunate to have all these great fisheries right in our back yards. Taking a kid fishing, is not a once a year thing for you. You take two kids fishing almost every trip. Everyone should get a kid hooked on fishing. I hope the upgrades go smoothly.
  4. GJ Losin. It was good for you today, but it will be fantastic in a couple of weeks.
  5. It's not as EZ as it seems, but someone has to do it. It wears me right out, and my wife actually thinks 'm out there having a good time. If ya love it ya love it.
  6. I met Walleye Mike and his family at the Pt AuGres campground last night. We had a nice chat and compared some notes. Mike is super nice guy. I talked again with Mike on the water this morning. I also met Brian (Salmon Slammer or Salmon Slayer), at the dock in AuGres). Rogerh69, Big-Jack, and I fished our usual program out of AuGres this morning. The fog was thick, and the lake was flat. We fished for 3 hrs for a 3 man limit of nice eater size walleye. Some of the Stinger spoon harness that I tied for the tourney were still on the rods. Glow Tiger, Purple, Coper, and Brass all produced fish. The flat water made for a little tougher bite, but we were determined to "Gitter Done".
  7. I just pan fry them with the rest of the fish, and we arm wrestle for the cheeks.
  8. Heck no on the same spot. We only tap the honey hole when we have to. We could have used and abused you on this trip.
  9. GJ R-Turn. I like the Dodger and squid combo, and run it a lot in the late Summer. I bend my Dodgers to be able to run them a little faster.
  10. You Da Man Terry. Nice job.
  11. We had a few stumbling blocks today, but us old slugs can still gitter done. We were heading S. on US 23 when we had a flat tire on the boat trailer, just N. of AuGres on the 4 lane section. Well 1/2 hr later we changed out the tire and started for the launch. We're finally on our way to fish. About 2 or 3 miles from the River Mouth cans, a boater is waving us over. It was his first trip in a new to him boat, and he lost power. He did have a small electric trolling motor. We pulled him up the AuGres River, and cut him loose in front of the docks. He did offer to pay for our fuel, but I declined, telling him to help someone else when required. Well the Duke would say, we were "Burning Daylight". Finally we were on our way, to catch some walleye. We lost about an hour towing the disabled boat and the waves had built considerably. We set up in 30+ FOW and the 2 footers turned to 3s. A little over 2 hrs later, we had a 4 man limit of Saginaw Bay walleye. Crawlers and B.B. Some of the rigs I tied for the Stinger Tourney were still in play. Any color seemed to work. Get em while they're HOT.
  12. Thanks for the info Capt Dick. I'll be over there in August for sure.
  13. WTG. If the walleye bite slows I may give Oscoda a try. I fished Oscoda a lot before the salmon took a dive. Thanks for the report.
  14. WTG Mike. Not bad for Salmon in June. GITTER DONE:)
  15. I have had them apart and it's not too bad. Buy the parts and go for it. You will do the second one twice as fast as the first. EZ:)
  16. A very warm welcome to you Zing. I fish Lake Huron and Saginaw Bay. I do make a few trips to the sunset side for some salmon slammin. I fish out of an older 22 ft Starcraft Islander Hardtop. She is kind of like me, "Old, Slow, but somewhat dependable". WELCOME ABOARD.
  17. Thanks for the report Capt.
