  1. Yes I run #3,4, and 5 Colorado blades for walleye with a three hook nightcrawler harness. I tie my own.
  2. I wasn't going to fish this weekend, because of the crowds. I was going sit in a lawn chair at he launch, drinking lemonade and enjoy the circus. I decide to try and get a crew together and get out early. We picked up 14 fish rather quickly and worked a lil for the last 6. I had some newbies, to inline boards onboard. By the end of the trip they were doing just fine. Four man limit 30 FOW 2 oz B.B. about 35 down 1.5 MPH. Do I sound like a broken record????? I keep inviting newbies, because it gives us Grumpy Old Men someone to growl at. I was going to try cranks the last two times out, but keep running the crawlers. With an experienced crew it is almost like harvesting. Gitter Done.
  3. The blades look like the ones I run on nightcrawler harnesses, for walleye.
  4. GJ Terry:) 4 for 8????? Are you playing catch and release. Sharpen hooks.
  5. GJ Nick. Thanks for the report.
  6. No need to zero it just get it to the nearest 10, 20 30 etc.
  7. The three over reminds me of two consecutive trips last year. Chuck and I were fishing on the Priority1. I had Chuck make a count and we headed in with what we thought was a limit. We ended up with 9 fish for the two of us. The next day we ended up with 11. I told him the fish cops will not understand your averaging methods. I recently put a Golf stroke counter on the key chain @ the helm. We box a fish the helmsman clicks the counter.
  8. RogerH69, Frank S, Surf and Turf (from MS), and I hit the water about 7:15. We were going fish with 5 aboard but we had a no show. I talked to the person earlier this morning and it was clear to meet at the launch @ 7AM. The 4 of us ended up with 17 nice walleye. We were in 28 FOW running 2 oz B.B. with harnesses about 35 down. I was tempted to switch to cranks and spoons, but I just keep pulling crawlers. This was the first time I fished with Frank S. It would have been the first time for the no show also. I hope everything is OK with the absent person. He never called, and I'm reluctant to call him.
  9. A warm welcome to you Cody. I always wanted to fish Lake O. I fish Lake Huron and Saginaw Bay, with a few trips to lake Michigan. I have a 22 Starcraft Islander HT. You will like it here.
  10. GJ Dan. I'm glad you were able to lend a helping hand.
  11. Hang tough. They will turn on.
  12. It may be a touch early for Manistee. Manistee is my favorite Lake MI port. I seldom fish it in the afternoon. I usually hit it @ 5 AM and again @ 7PM. Well at least you made it out. Better luck next time. How were the nets? The nets never became a issue for me, except when I heard they were missing a few of them.
  13. GJ Kyle, Way to make it happen.
  14. I'm glad you were able to make it out with your boys.
  15. Sounds like the kind of people to keep doing business with.
  16. Yes the inline boards have come a long way. I have been running them for the past 2 years for walleye and salmon. I have had some old die hard fishermen onboard who still swear by the big boards. Once I got the heck of the little boards I never looked back at the big ones. My hardtop has two S.S. eye bolts high and up front on both sides. These eyes is where I would fasten my planer line. There are some advantages to running the big boards, especially with rookies onboard. A lot of the charter captains still run them. I may try mine again in the early Spring for the mixed bag we get around here.
  17. GL Slipknot. I hope someone is able to help you over there.
  18. I'm glad you got the problem fixed. I wonder if that small bellows was clamped in somewhat an extended position when the OD was in. When the OD was trimmed out it pulled the large end of the bellows. Bellows problems are right up there for the cause of sinking boats. GL tomorrow on the eyes.
