  1. GJ Tom. I had a fish get into my 8 color. I was able to save everything except some braid backer. I may have to respool with new backer. I hate being even a lil short. Ya neva know when a big King wants to spool ya.
  2. I have some Cabela's Neoprene ones that are 7 years old, and no leaks yet.
  3. Everything was a little late this year, including the slow down. It will pick up real soon.
  4. It is a nice touch. I added my name to my avatar, so I wouldn't be known as hey you.
  5. More than likely a part of a GPS Coordinate, with a given port it's usually the second two numbers.
  6. Well at least you got one.
  7. You Dog, Way to Gitter Done. Keep on Slammin those Salmon. I think you can smell where those salmon are.
  8. Thanks to all. It was almost dead calm when we were coming off the water, the day of those pics. Early in the morning it was quite different. There were brisk varying winds that had the water in a 3 foot choppy situation. The waves were close together. I stayed on the helm a lot of the time. Trolling the choppy Sag Bay taught me a trick or three about boat control. Even going with the waves it was a full time job, keeping things straight. I learned a few more things on this trip.
  9. This was not my most successful Salmon trip, in terms of numbers of fish. It was successful because I got to meet and fish with two young fishermen, and land a some quality fish to boot. This was the first, and maybe the only Salmon trip I'll do with my boat this year. It took us awhile to figure things out, but when we did we were performing like a team. Andrew aka Harperman, and Brent aka Ferris State Hunter (MS site), were a pleasure to fish with. These two are welcome aboard the Priority1 anytime. Glow Js 50-100 down, 15 back over 180-220 FOW. Also braid Dipsy on 1 175 back with a white and pink glow J. A 8 color core also took some fish. Gitter Done. Use the riders forum if you need a crew.
  10. I can get down to 40 ft with 2 0z weights and 50 ft and better with 3 oz weights and never come close to having 150 ft of line out behind the boards. I experiment with different methods, and respect everyones methods and opinions. The walleye don't seem to care how the spinners or cranks are put in their faces. My point is, why spend a dollar when a nickel will get the job done, and do it faster? The price of a 2 or 3 oz bottom bouncer less than $2. The look on a fisherman's face when several of his cores or copper lines get whacked, Priceless. The K.I.S.S. method works well for me. If copper or core worked better or faster, I would be the first in line to buy some. I always keep an opened mind to new and better methods. I have used core for salmon and walleye. There may be times when core or copper will out perform anything else on salmon. If something like copper puts walleye in the boat quicker than bouncers or in line weights, I'd be the first in line to get some. On the other hand, I can barely keep keep up now. I'm just old and slow. Peace brothers.
  11. That's why I seldom fish weekends.
  12. Way to figure it out and get it done. GJ Mike and crew.
  13. GJ Storm. Way to adapt and make it happen.
  14. Kings are generally not afraid of the boat etc. I have taken Kings on free sliders with the main line down 30-35. Where was that lure running??? Prop wash big time. I have also take fish with lures 10 ft behind the ball in 30 FOW. Here's one for you. In June we were fishing walleye and had an unbaited harness and BB in the prop wash while we dealt with a fish. A walleye came up and slammed that unbaited harness and we were in 12 FOW. Walleye aren't supposed to do that. Sometimes the fish don't read the rule book.
  15. GJ Joe. It's great you were able to fish with mom and dad.
  16. Yes, that's why I got in the middle of it. I thought if I got a shot from both of you it may adjust my attitude. Darn good thing these are verbal jabs. The only thing about doing this in an open forum, some people can take it serious, and the site gets known for cyber fighting. When that happens serious fishermen, especially newcomers, leave. Keep it light, please don't fight.
  17. The sun is the best, if it's daylight. If it's dark I place my glow stuff on my engine cover, and turn my two 55 W halogen fishing lights on to charge them on the way out. I also give them a flash or shine them with an L.E.D. light before use.
  18. GJ Hourlate. Did you have any J-Plugs out??
  19. Sounds like some miscommunication. I know you two can iron this out. It would be best to take this private. Now shake hands and come out fishing.
  20. Tony, I'll close the thread. I'm glad you sold it. What next a 35 ft Tiara???
