  1. These are bonus days, Jarod. Get out as often as you can.
  2. Welcome aboard Brom. Someone should be able to help with the Auto Pilot.
  3. Mike, You and the cabin boys will miss it.
  4. I have used the small LJ Dodgers early with some success. Most always behind a Dipsy. Bend the dodgers on both ends in the direction they are already cupped, and they will run more like a flasher.

    Mice

While we are on Dryer Sheets, they also work well to keep the cabin odor free. I hang a few of them on the curtain rods in the cuddy. Put some under the car or truck seats. They also repel bugs.
  6. All lines including leadcore are sensitive to water temp. The density of the water changes with significant temp change. This is the kind of feedback I'm looking for. Thanks for ringing in Tony. They claim it will go down 5 ft. per color. I just checked Cabela's site. It looks like they have the 36# stuff on sale for $10/200yds, reg $30. I'm not sure if the stuff is any good or not. Maybe someone here has tried it.
  7. Tomorrow is looking good here. I may do a lil perch jerking. Windy conditions are typical for this time of year. You have to keep watching for those rare windows of opportunity.
  8. I'm glad you was able to get your alternator and get back out within hours. I was lucky to find a new Delco for mine, on line for about $80 including shipping. Marine stuff is expensive. http://www.db-starter-alternator.com/
  9. I was wondering if anyone has tried the Non Leadcore, and how it stacks up against the real stuff.

    Mice

Mice and chipmunks can cause a lot of damage. They don't like the smell of mothballs. Get some nylon mesh and tie up some bags similar to the way you would tie spawn bags only larger. hang a few of these in strategic locations. BBQ grills is another place the lil buggers like to Winter.
  11. Not much different than a grub tail on a jig. Of course it will work.
  12. At least you got the Steelie, and the boat will be ready to rock next year. I had alternator problems last year.
  13. GJ Capt Dick. Give me a shout when you start hitting the Saginaw Bay next spring.
  14. Prayers for the victims. Nothing worse than burns.
  15. WTG We always say, "You're only going too fast if the canon balls are skipping on the surface". You must have been getting some major blow back on the riggers, not to mention the bend in the diver rods. Like always, Find out what they want and give em lots of it. There has been a few article written on high speed trolling.
  16. GJ Mike. Keep putting it to em.
  17. At least you were able to get out. It's always good to look back on a successful season. I was out, with three friends, perch jerking today. We were talking about the great year we had, and was already thinking Spring. Our boats will stay ready up to the first of the year. Ya neva know when a window of opportunity will pop open. I will be after some whitefish, off the Tawas Pier, in another 4 to 6 weeks. Where did this Summer go??? I fished more this year than ever before.
  18. GJ Andy. It must have been super, your folks along.
  19. Howdy Jobsite. Do you fish out of AuGres?

  20. Four of us fished out of AuGres in 27 FOW in Big Jack's boat. We all got enough keepers for a meal. It wasn't the best trip I ever made, but it was far from the worst. I must have threw back 30-40 6 inch perch. We were keeping 8 inch and larger fish. I got one that went 13-3/4 inches. We had a few 7 inch fish that were hooked deep that we kept. It was a nice day to spend on the pond. We had a 1 foot chop to start with. When the wind died down the fish stopped. The breeze picked up again and the fish started biting.
  21. The best bet is to get the specs of the tools you will use. They will give their requirements, and get a compressor that is a little bit above your needs.
  22. GJ Bill.
  23. No nukes, no wind turbines, no coal fired power houses, but we need the energy. Natural Gas is being used to generate electricity, so it shortens the supply, and up goes our heating cost to the tune of 25% this Winter. We are all guilty of being against a lot of different things. What's the answer?? Are we living the American dream, or is it becoming a nightmare? I'm as guilty as anyone. When I was boy, most families had a car. We lived in modest homes and if you were lucky you had central heat, and a telephone. Today every family has to have at least two cars, 6 phones, two refrigerators, etc etc. That's progress, but we need to fuel it. So much industry has left the states surrounding the GLs. I'm not sold on any one source of energy, but if we are going to keep industry here, we need to have a reasonable source of electricity. We all need to voice our opinions, but when we say no to something, be prepared to say yes to something else. Now instead of dodging nets and windmills, the two could be combined. The tribes can power the slot machines with off shore wind turbines, and use the legs of these wind turbines as net stakes. We can all forget about our boats, 4wd trucks etc. The tribes can use the fish netted to help us poor folks through the Winter. We can all go back to two room cabins, where a two hole outhouse is a luxury. Just think what I could come up with, if I had a couple of beers.
