  1. Welcome WaterChicken.
  2. Steve, I see this is your first post. Someone will chime in about the charters available out of Saugatuck. A warm welcome to the GLF site.
  3. Here's one of Gun Lake near Wayland MI. Run on my personal Toughbook with Windows 10 and a windows app with over 7000 freshwater US charts. Of couse it will show your position in real time.
  4. Gj on the ho and laker. It will get better.
  5. Tight Lines.
  6. GL out of St. Joe. Tight Lines.
  7. Pat, A warm Nice boat. Just holler if you need any help.
  8. I was just going to post a similar reply. So your answer is yes and no. If you are posting a fishing report it's best posted under the Fishing report section. Discussion is fine here but even a report here is better than none. I'm somewhat guilty of not posting as much as I used to. I'm probably a little older than most members here. I'm coming out of the gate a little slower this year. Bad Winter. GL and tight lines always. I promise to be better at noticing your reports.
  9. Thanks for posting. How long has the ice been gone and what are the water temps?
  10. Burt, Gj on the shakedown.
  11. I sold another one Tue after a demonstration. This one is still for sale.
  12. Erik, I'll order two and give one to you.
  13. I think most everyone logs in and checks the NEW POSTS. The Charter Captain's Facebook entries feed into this like all other posts. This has been discussed before. It's one of those love em or hate em things. These Facebook posts are very recognizable and no one has to read them. Personally I don't subscribe to Facebook or other like sites. I think the older folks like me just don't get why some folks have to share so much personal information on the WWW. I think the Charter Captains like Facebook for it's free advertising. I guess different strokes for different folks. The biggest thing this site does have going is the respect and friendliness of our members. Threads will have many different viewpoints and most accept the fact that we can all agree to disagree and still be friends when the discussion is over. We have all seen the fur fly on several different web sites. I will not do a shake down until at least the middle of May. I most always share what I'm doing even if it's the same program day after day except for water depths. I use the force feed em method and will continue to do so.
  14. Sun, A warm to the GLF site. Buy the best you can afford. Binoculars are tough to use on a boat. The rougher the seas the harder it is to focus on an object. When viewing another boat from your boat and both are bobbing around it is challenging to say the least.
  15. Robert, I had shoulder surgery three years ago. You'll be in a sling for about 6 weeks. That year I fished a few times before the surgery and only once after it. I realized quickly that I shouldn't be doing what I was and risk re-injuring the shoulder. After a lot of my own therapy and a couple of weeks of supervised therapy my shoulder is as good as new with great range of motion. Play it safe.
  16. GJ on the Spring fish. Take a look at the MI fishing guide. The Browns look a lot different than steel in shape and color. I hope you made it in OK with the broken throttle.
  17. I have been running this setup for 5 years. I'll continue to do so this year. I have Windows 10 installed on my personal Toughbook. I just added a APP to it with charts available for over 7000 lakes across the USA. I have downloaded Higgins, Houghton, Hubbard, Cadillac, Mitchell, Mullet, Burt, Black, just to name a few. Of course position shown in real time. I'm always trying new stuff.
