  1. Richard, A warm welcome to you. Let us know if we can help in any way. I fish Lake Huron and it's Saginaw Bay, with a few trips a year to Lake Michigan. I mostly fish out of my 22 Starcraft Islander Hard Top. Join us in the chat room Wed about 8 Eastern time.
  2. Kjell, That Special Mate Box looks like mine. LOL When I bought my boat the guy was anxious to sell all his trolling gear. I already had most everything, but he made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I traded and sold what I couldn't use, and kept the stuff I could use.
  3. Matt, I was hoping you would do well. That's fishing.
  4. Unique yes, but also hard on rods. A casting rod is not meant to bend that way.
  5. I run a mix of flutter type spoons mostly around 2.7 MPH, but will fluctuate from 2 - 3.5 MPH. With under water currents it is most important to check the speed at the ball. The under water currents can cause different lure depths to run differently.
  6. That is so cool. Glad you got to meet and talk with him.
  7. They have come down in price. I see them on Frank's Great Outdoors Site for $45. http://www.franksgreatoutdoors.com/fishing/tackle-storage/tackle-boxes?p=2
  8. There is a certain technique when the fish are light biting. Sometimes you have to coax the bite. It dose take a light touch, and almost another sense. Sometimes it's what you have on your hands. Wash hands with WD40, the fish don't seem to mind it.
  9. Larry, Welcome to the site. Let us know if you need any help.

  11. I made some last Winter out of Stainless Steel. Here is a pic. I think I had about $100 into the pair of them.
  12. GJ guys. Sea Mac held his own when he fished with me. Mike, I think those two put the curse on you.
  13. A very warm welcome to you Kjell.

  14. And those spoons are really clean.

  18. Last year I was thinking about slowing my fishing down, because of increasing expenses. High fuel costs added to the already expensive sport. I decided to try something dead opposite. I made a real effort to fill every seat, every time I went out. Instead of fishing with 2 and 3 people on board, I was fishing with at least 3 or 4 and as many as 6. By filling the seats, it helps with expenses, and creates some bonds that can last a lifetime. I will fish 5 out of 7 days, if the weather cooperates. I guess todays terminology would peg this as, "Thinking Outside The Box". Sharing trips, posting for riders, and making a list of potential fishing partners, all help fill seats. The www and great sites like this one helps put fishermen in contact with one another. Gitter Done Dog Gone It, and "Fill Them Seats".
  19. Matt, Never quit learning.
  20. Tough Times. We all are effected in one way or another.
  21. A warm welcome to a new advertiser.
  22. At least you pulled in a couple of them. Timing is everything.
  23. Brian & Bob, PMs sent.
  24. Rob, I do my walleye fishing in the Summer time, mostly out of AuGres. Sorry I can't help you much this time of year. I can tell you one thing, you can't go wrong at Linwood Corners Restaurant on M13. Dan (Walleye Express) will probably ring in on this one.
