  1. Fishermen are like politicians, they only lie when the move their lips.
  2. Sean, Don't wish your life away. Retirement is OK except for the pay.
  3. Chill. It's still February.
  4. The link doesn't work.
  5. Welcome Sean. Let us know if you need any help. I fish mostly out of AuGres MI. on the Saginaw Bay. I do get over to Lake Michigan a few times a year. I'm retired, and fish almost every week day. I have a 22 ft Starcraft Islander hardtop.
  6. You are right on this point Skeiner. I have also brain hooked some shakers. A fair percentage of released fish die anyway. They seldom come unbuttoned using the singles.
  7. I like singles. They store easier, hook deeper, and are easier to sharpen.
  8. GJ Hunter. Mike did pretty good on the hand lining also.
  9. It was a VG trip.
  10. Good Job Wyatt. A lifetime of memories.
  11. I always take the clicker off while fighting a fish. I always put the clicker back on just before the net, and the lever goes back when the fish is netted. Pulling the lever back saves rods from breaking. Pulling lever back with the clicker off can result in a big birds nest.
  12. Welcome aboard Chris. You will fit right in here. Let us know if you need any help. I fish mostly out of AuGres MI on the Saginaw Bay. My ride is a 22 Starcraft Islander Hardtop. I'm mostly targeting walleye, but I do a few trips a year to Lake MI for some salmon slammin. Frank
  13. I was hoping he wasn't.
  14. It will be nice to troll with 3 rods targeting walleye, when things are slow, and I only have 2 or 3 people onboard. Most of the time we have a tough time keeping up with two rods per angler. I can run 12 rods max pulling 8 boards, two rods off the sides, and two rods on the riggers. Even with 4 or 5 of us onboard I doubt I'll try to get more than 10 rods out. I will have twelve, 20 series line counter set ups, that I can deploy if the situation is right. Sometimes less is more, so it depends a lot on conditions, crew, fish activity, etc.
  15. Thursday I ventured out to Tawas Point, and spent an hr talking with a DNR Fish Census taker that I know. He may be joining us on a trip or two next Summer. One of the guys that fish regularly with me lives close by to him. I had great success filling my boat seats last year. I posted regularly for riders on this site and MS. It looks like another stellar year coming up. When the weather is right, we will gitter done. Fishing web sites like this one has put me in contact with a lot of people. Thanks Mike (GLF) for making it possible. .
  16. VN Pics. I'm fascinated by the eagles. They are frequent visitors especially this time of year, when the fudgies are in short supply. Majestic birds in every sense of the word.
  17. Not a bad way to spend a Winter afternoon. GO HUNTER. Get that 20#er. I hope I can fish with you and the cabin boys, again this Summer.
  18. Very interesting.
  19. Just look near the entrances to most public buildings. Even when receptors are placed there, many don't use them. They are also tossed out the windows of moving cars. I think they should ban filtered cigarettes. At least the non filtered ones would biodegrade. Field strip the cigarettes and save the filters in your shirt pocket. Anyone caught tossing one should be made to pick up the trash on a 10 mile stretch of road. A lot of smokers don't consider this littering.
  20. Enjoy the show Tony.
  21. It looks like you have enough to start a tackle shop. The difference between a man and a boy is the price of his toys. WTG MAN.
  22. Dan, Cool pics. Now, if I can only get your to sell your walleye boats. This would be in the interest of happy fish. Seriously, you just have to love the Saginaw Bay and it's tribs. It has taking a heavy pounding the last few years, and seems to be holding up. I had a few groups of West Side fishermen onboard last year, that were not disappointed. There was a lot of negativity about Lake Huron, but I think that is changing, and the Saginaw Bay Fishery is a major factor in that change. This fishery has helped the local economy a ton. You are a good Ambassador for our area Dan. Fish porn is nice, but a few more chicks holding fish wouldn't hurt.
  23. What he said. Find out what they want, and give em lots of it.
  24. The 25s will fit through the #3, #4 Js. The 50s will fit through the #5 Js. These are shorter than the J plug standard beads, but will work. Boomerang did get some, and seemed pleased. These S.S. swivels are also nice for line termination. I have them on my walleye rods and Salmon rods. Thanks for inquiring. My email address is [email protected] or you can PM me here.
