    Good advice above for a Dipsy program. I would definitely get some good rod holders. I would use the Okuma MA30DX or the MA45DX. I would spool them with 25# mono backer and 150 yds of 30# braid on top. The Okuma MA45DX can be had for $35 and the 30DX line counter for $32.

    Rob, Right on. Those Yoopers have 9 months of Winter and 3 months of tough sledding. I do love it there, but they always escort this troll back to the bridge. I have been in the U.P. before the bridge. My last boat ride across the Straights was in the Summer of 1957. In spite of the hard times we are all fortunate to have these Great Lakes at our door step.

    We used to have a garden, but it takes too much time in the Summer. I do love the fresh vegetables, and buy at roadside stands and farmers markets. I sure do like BLTs, with fresh lettuce and tomatoes, and a ear of corn.

    Gordy, Thanks for the early Salmon fix. GJ on the video. It looks like the fish had a hitchhiker. Nasty lamprey scar. Nothing like a King peeling line.

    I haven't had any lately, but they are delicious smoked or pickled like herring.
