That does make for a special trip. I wish I could have been there.

I can catch a few words in some of the European speech, enough to know what's going on. A lot of the languages are similar.

This time of year finding some warmer water holding some bait fish is the key. The Southern ports always heat up faster, temperature and fishing wise.

GJ Skip. Just keep spooking some of those fish North. I may trailer a lil S. for my next trip. The inner bay should should start warming up if we can get this weather to normalize.

GJ Joe. Those are dark greenish healthy looking LT. I volunteered for a C.G.A. inspection in the AuGres parking lot last year. I didn't have any issues, but they recommended I get a back up fire extinguisher. Hats off to those brave men and women. They risk their lives for us.

WTG Randy. Those darn Lakers like to roll sometimes, and that can result in lost fish. The fish have to win a few battles, or it wouldn't be fun.

I'm somewhat of a trusting person. I always trailer my boat, and when I'm away from home, I usually have someone keep an eye on things. I have unhitched and left it in the Manistee boat launch parking lot, next to other fishermen in motor homes. I just ask them to keep an eye on it. In campgrounds I usually make friends with the people in the nearby campsites, and have them watch things while I'm away. Kind of a neighborhood watch program. At home my boat never sits outside. I have a designated bay with a 12 ft wide 10 ft high door, to house Priority1. Knock on wood, I have never had anything taken from my boat.

This is only my second trip out this year. We use Big Jacks 17 footer early in the season and he has been under the weather. I think it did him some good to get out today. We only managed 3 walleye this evening. Two of the fish were 3# and one 2-1/2#. Two fish came on a purple and orange #18 bomber, the other on pink and white #12. A lot of boats. All our fish came in 7 FOW going 1.5 MPH 25 ft back, off in-line boards. Water temps were 45-51.
