Mike, with 200-300 ft of nylon rode there will be enough stretch in it. It will stretch out and then retract. The bungee set up couldn't hurt.

Mozilla and Firefox are Linux programs. Mozilla is an email program, Firefox is the web browser similar to MS Internet explorer. I like the Linux systems. I have Ubutu installed on this PC along with Widows XP pro. I may make the switch totally to Linux especially if MS ever catches up with me on this XP OS. LOL I'm just not sure how they are using Mozilla, and email program, to enter GLF site. I guess Mozzila is a broad term referring to Firefox and other Linux systems like Thunderbird Email. So what I said above about Mozilla being email is not totally correct.

AOL is H-ll. I was a mod on a game site, and people with AOL had to enter by pasting the web link in their browsers. If they try and enter through AOL by clicking the link it was a no go. Have them try to enter with IE or Firefox and paste the link into the browser. That is what worked before, for us. AOL has always been troublesome.

GJ Mike. Too bad the anchor didn't hold. Sometimes a longer anchor rode will help. The longer it is the more stretch to absorb the shock. If the rode is made of poly and not nylon, that can add to the problem.

I was going to fish the Saginaw Bay today, but the E. Wind forced me to do yard work. Priority1 is ready, but I'll probably wait until next week to do a shakedown cruie.

I have had problems with them in the past. They can do a lot of damage. I don't try and trap them. A 22 or 12Ga will gitter done.

Maybe you can pick up the clicker pawl from a local repair shop. I replaced 2 last year one on a Penn #9 and one on a 209.

For the most part I have had real good luck with crews. I have asked for riders on this site and MS. I have also swapped a few trips. Swapping trips is a good way to get acquainted with some other fishermen, their area, and pick up some different techniques. If you have never done a trip swap, consider it. All of mine have been positive experiences.
