  1. Glad you made it out and boated the King.
  2. Well at least you had one rip, and a nice boat ride. It will only get better.
  3. A warm welcome to you Bill. GJ on the eyes and ho.
  4. From where you are coming from, the Linwood Bay City are is your best bet. I don't have much to add as far as advice. I usually run a 10 rod spread of bouncers, but inline weights, and snap weights, are also in my bag of tricks. Once the surface temps top 60 degrees these fish get so aggressive even a caveman could catch em.
  5. I have a dozen of the Okuma MA20DX I use for walleye. I haven't had any problems with them. I also have 6 or 7 of the larger sizes. I bought the 20s because at one time they were the same price as the 15s. They are plenty fast enough.
  6. I have been out two times before this but Priority1 waited patiently in the garage. Everything checked out fine except the idle speed. I had to turn it up just a touch, which is no chore at all on the water. We managed to pick up 5 walleye between 2-1/2 and 3-1/2 pounds, before the N wind built and shut things down. Bouncers and Meat. 27-30 FOW and 15-18 FOW. 0.8 to 1.3 SOG We started late about 10AM. Paperboy for the MS site fished with me. Paperboy got his limit, I just failed to get mine. I was tired when we made it back to my favorite port on the AuGres River. I pulled Priority1 one partially up the ramp but failed to have the outdrive up. OUCH!!! SOG!!! I slightly damaged one prop blade. I think I'll put a RED sign on the port and starboard exit points, to remind me to raise the drive. (DRIVE) or (OUTDRIVE) should do the trick. I have done dumber things than this. I thought I'd post this to maybe save someone else from doing the same. Anything can, and will distract you. Some stick on letters or a little paint, may save you a red face, and a few $$$. I have another prop, and Jim's Prop Shop in Standish will fix the damaged one good as new.
  7. Welcome to the site Jeremy. If you get a chance introduce yourself in the welcome forum. You will like it here.
  8. GJ Steve.
  9. I have never been asked that question before. I started seriously fishing them in the 80s, but never kept score. If I never boat another one, I'm satisfied with the great walleye fishing that I'm fortunate enough to have in my back yard. As far as reeling in the fish I'm more likely than not to pass the rod. My biggest thrills are when kids are onbaord. They can always reel in my share.
  10. For trolling I would get some line counter reels. The Okuma MA15DX will get the job done, and won't break the bank. The line counters enable you to duplicate what is working. They are not necessary, but they will surely make fishing more productive and easier. Some 7 ft med action rods will go well with these.
  11. Joe, GJ on the shrooms and brookie.
  12. WTG Chris. Keep hammering them.
  13. Nick, She looks very nice. I like the name.
  14. Jay, Fantastic. Way to hammer them.
