  1. I know you would have helped. We were not in any danger but may have needed a tow off the rocks before shifting into gear.
  2. Bill, I hope all is well with you. Your new grandson will be setting lines before you know it. Nothing like grandchildren. Grandchildren are gifts from God, for not killing their parents.
  3. GJ Dan. Gotta love the Saginaw Bay.
  4. Scott, At least you managed to get a couple of fish. Not bad considering you left some tools at home.
  5. GJ and thanks for the report.
  6. I have a heavy duty hose and fitting that stays connected to the oil pan drain. The hose has a cap on it and it will fit through the transom drain hole. When I need to change the oil, I push the hose out the transom and remove the cap. I use a 2 gallon container to catch the oil. $20 bucks plus S&H. here is a link. The only thing, you will have to drain the oil first to connect this hose. Oil change is a breeze, with this set up. http://amarket.com/oldhose.htm
  7. GJ and thanks for the report Capt Don.
  8. Mark MFS, Oscoda Frank, and myself teamed up aboard the Priority1 for some walleye whacking. We started where we left off yesterday and could only manage a couple of fish. I then decided to try one of my favorite starting points WPT 160. We snapped up about 7 or 8 walleye in about a half hr. We went on to box a total of 14 walleye one short of our limit. It was tough conditions and a tough bite. The day started off bad. I had a no show rider from the GR area. He left message for me to call him. He was very apologetic and had a good reason for the now show. It seems he shut the alarm off and went back to sleep. We waited an extra 20 minutes, because he was coming from such a long distance. But wait there's more. When we were done fishing I was up on plane in the lower AuGres River, and pulled the throttle back just before the no wake area. The boat came off plane, and the engine quit. We slowly washed into the rocky shore. MFS Mark made it out on the bow and was able to keep the boat from getting damaged. While we were on the rocks a few boats passed by, with not an offer to help. I broke the coil mounting bracket and the coil shorted out and blew the ignition breaker. It took us about 10 minutes to find the problem and fire up and get back to the launch. The launch on holiday weekends is filled with 3 time a year inconsiderate boaters, that have no idea about launch etiquette. GRRRR. But wait there's more. While loading the boat I broke a shaft in my electric winch. Fortunately the boat was close enough to hook the safety chain, and get the boat out of the water. Putting things into perspective, all of the above is just a bump in the road of life. We had a good day of rough water fishing, and no one got hurt. I was able to pick up a coil bracket at the marina for under $3. The marina is located in AuGres adjacent to the NAPA auto parts store. I need to get a new winch and Priority1 will be ready to ROCK. I probably will not fish again until Tues or Wed. Honey Dos. I do push the limits when it comes to fishing. My wife is very understanding.
  9. I do run a rigger once in a great while, but mostly use the rigger rod holders to transport rods. I never measured any of the fish, but I think the larger fish was closer to 26 inches.
  10. Here's one of Priority1. I'm about to get some trolling bags in, and set lines. Mark S. aka MFS took the shot.
  11. GJ Jay. Can you put an outboard on those kayaks?
  12. L to R Mel D, Myself, and Jack W. managed a 3 man limit out of AuGres. We fished 36-40 FOW pulling 9 lines. We had two rods with 3oz bouncers and meat over the sides. We had 7 inline boards rigged with 2 oz bouncers and crawler harnesses. All the action was near the bottom. We had 2 nice fish come unbuttoned close to the boat, one being in the 7-8# class. Same old colors Chartreuse, Red, and purple. Gitter Done. I'll fish tomorrow, but then I'll turn the fishing over to the weekend warriors. I'd rather steer clear of the crowds, on holiday weekends. Some of the things that go on at the ramps and the lake really bug me. For the most part it's a different scene on weekdays. Anyone venturing out over the holiday weekend, BE SAFE.
  13. It doesn't matter if it's a bundle of cash, or a $20 planer board. An honest person is an honest person. ^5s and hats off to the sportsman who returned your board.
  14. Actually we fished AuGres and was in 13-43 FOW. We were all over the map trying to find some active fish. We boated more trash fish today than in the last 2 years. We pulled some fish shallow and deep and everything in between. We didn't limit but ended the day with 16 walleye and a bonus perch. The fish seemed to be scattered after the LP system and storms moved through. Thanks Paperboy for helping out on the boat. Gitter done.
  15. This one sounds like a winner. BLTs are a Summer ritual here.
  16. Try the reef area. Outside the reef if the water is stained, and inside if it's clear. See you in AuGres.
  17. GJ Mike and crew. A special ^5 to the cabin boys.
  18. WTG, Nice job whackin walleye.
  19. Plastic cutting boards make excellent backing material. They are tough as nails.
  20. Tony, GJ, and nice sunrise pic.
