  1. Nice fish. I lightened the pic up a little.
  2. John, I'm glad you finally got a taste of our beloved Sag Bay. The smiles say it all.
  3. More toys for big boys.
  4. GJ in tough conditions Dan. Gitter Done.
  5. We looked @ WPT 160 where we left off Friday but the fish were gone. We tried a little S. of Pt AuGres in 30 FOW and picked up a few. We trolled in to 27-28 FOW and started to hit some fish. We only ended up with 12 and a bonus perch, but have a starting point for tomorrow. Same program bouncers and meat, 1-1/2 MPH purple, chartreuse, and red. Three of us will try and get on and off the water before the storms hit tomorrow. It seems like a changing game every day. Last year we pounded the same spots consistently. We are still having a VG year with so many limit catches. Gitter done.
  6. GJ on the eyes Steve.
  7. WTG Keith. Manistee is one of my favorite ports.
  8. GJ Jay. The Hall is one of the best kept secrets in the state.
  9. GJ Adam. Ya know I love that port. I hope to make it over there in a couple of weeks. Keep hammering them.
  10. Congrats to Jim, Mike and their crews. It's good to see Muskegon picking up again.
  11. Fish porn at it's finest.
  12. A sure fire inexpensive way to keep the board on the line, is to replace the back release with a line snap. If you use a orange release on the front a large fish will release it and the board will quit planing, and you will not have to fight the board. You will also need a speed bead or some other means of keeping the board from sliding all the way down to the fish, Locking up the front release so it can't release can cause lost fish. While you are fighting the board the fish can swim against it, and get slack. I run up to 10 Offshore boards for walleye, and for them I don't want the boards to release and slide. For Salmon I just don't like fighting a board. To me locking the front release on a salmon board is worse than fighting a Dipsy that is not released due to over tightening. JMHO
  13. Thursday I had the pleasure of fishing with Joe A, Bill D aka mdad, and Bill's old friend Rick from WI. It was a very pleasurable trip, although we only managed 11 walleye. we was in 30 FOW pulling bouncers and meat. Friday I fished with Joe A, and Tom T. We were all over the bay searching. We only had 4 fish when I decided to try my old reliable WPT 160. This WPT kinda dried up a couple of weeks ago, but the fish were back. We marked a ton of fish in 34 FOW and proceeded to take 6 fairly quick fish. We stayed in this area and 3 of us ended the day with 14 nice eyes. Bouncers and meat 1.5 MPH. It does seem like the easy pickings, we had a few weeks ago, are over. Fish can be caught, but you may have to work for them. I have battling the gout the last few days. Friday it seemed to peek while we were fishing. Priority1 must have been having sympathy pains, because she decide to quit running Friday. It would only start and run briefly, then quit. After letting it sit, and try it again it wouldn't start at all. I had some good friends in the area, and was pulled in by Woppole. Thank you Barry and Anna L. Also thanks to Big Al aka Tacklebox, for the offer to pull me in. Another thanks to some gents from the GR area that assisted @ the dock. Well!! I guess I have to get myself back to par, and then figure out what's up with Priority1. I have pulled in 6 different boats over the years, and this is my first time being towed. Thanks again for the good people who assisted me when I needed it. My posting will be limited for a couple of days. I have tons to do.
  14. Welcome aboard Mike. Let us know if we can help you in any way. I know you will like it here.
  15. GJ Tom. I wish I was there with you. Did you ever make it over to AuGres? I know you were thinking about it a few weeks back.
  16. Tom T, Paul R, and myself fished AuGres this morning. 3 oz bouncers with meat over the side, and 2 oz bouncers off the boards. We drifted and trolled 9 lines to fill a 3 man ticket in a touch over 2 hrs. Purple continues to out shine the other colors. When under power we ran @ 1.5 MPH. We were in 30 FOW. Sorry I can't vary this stuff, but what it is it is. None of our fish had to be measured but they do get dwarfed by the 30 incher. Paul R. aka Paperboy handled the rod like he knew what he was doing. GITTER DONE:)
