  1. GJ Don. It's great to share our sport with kids. Look at those faces.
  2. WTG Bomber. I'm starting to feel the pull from that area.
  3. Nope, not since I started using 3/8 mainlines, protected by 1/2 I.D. flexible plastic tubing at there wear points. I do put a lot of miles on those socks. I'll probably have the wear items replaced or repaired this Winter. Come on over Mike. I'll give you a ride on the swim platform again.
  4. Jason, We were talking about your in H&H today. Barry told me about meeting you in the campground, and I told him about a couple of our fishing trips. Gotta Love That Saginaw Bay.
  5. I fished with Barry L. today and we managed a two man limit, and farmed 2 keepers. Barry and his wife Anna were kind enough to tow me in two weeks ago. We were blessed with a beautiful morning and captured this pic while on our way in. Yesterday I fished with Big Jack and Paperboy and we took 10 walleye. Big Jack and Paperboy got their limit but I was slacking. Gitter Done. Purple, Pink, Chartreuse, harnesses on Bottom Bouncers. 27-32 FOW S. of Pt AuGres.
  6. Thanks for the info Matt. I moved the thread to the Salmon Pros section. While we are on Js, I just got back from Northwoods in Pinconning and purchase 3 Rattle Js for $3 each. Sign said they bought a semi load. I got 2 green pink and white #4s Army Truck and one Blue Back and silver # 5 called Silver Blue top. Those arm trucks look like watermelon colors. It's been awhile since Js were $3 each. They don't have a full selection of colors. They had a lot of green with black ladder backs.
  7. Randy, I wish I could have joined you and Rick on the TadPole. GJ on the fishing and the luck of the draw. Everyone who participates in this event is a WINNER. The organizers and sponsors get a thumbs up from me.
  8. The strong SW winds kept us from getting where we wanted to fish. We did manage 8 keeper size walleye and about the same amount of sub legal fish. We were drifting with the 2-3 foot waves with a 4 foot wave thrown in every now and then. We were able to troll into the waves but the fish didn't like that presentation. Chartreuse was our best color and purple was a close second. Bottom bouncers and harnesses. Surface water temps are still sub 70s.
  9. GJ Jim. Thanks for the report. Priority1 will probably get washed there a couple of times in August. Manistee is my favorite Lake MI port, and the closest.
  10. It's good to hear that Muskegon is heating up. GJ Mike and crew.
  11. GJ Jay. The Hall is the best kept secret on Lake Michigan.
  12. A warm welcome Steve. Get to pounding that steel.
  13. Paperboy, Oscoda Frank, Big Jack, and myself hit the water early to beat the predicted storm. It was foggy, and choppy when we launched around 6 AM. We had to work a bit but pulled lines about 11:45. We probably didn't set lines until about 7:30. We checked a few places, then decided to run S. By run I mean a 6 miles ride @ 10 MPH. It wasn't bad coming back. 27 FOW, bouncers and meat, doing about 1.5 MPH. Purple red, and chartreuse were getting it done. We did farm a few keepers pulling lines and also released 10-15 undersized walleye, and a half a dozen sheephead. Gottal love the Saginaw Bay.
  14. Get the kids hooked on fishing. They'll love you for it.
