  1. Clair, GJ on the Steel.
  2. The Trees: They are the cat's meow for running boards. I have run my 4 rod trees for two seasons, and don't know how I ever managed without them.
  3. Welcome aboard Chuck. You will like it here. I'm glad you stumbled across this site. Give a holler if ya need any help.
  4. ^5s Adam. Gitter Done.

  5. The riggers are Cannons. I want the rod holders to be able to swivel out, back, and maybe even in for travel.
  6. I have 2 Big Jon Ball Cradles with a pair of Multi Set Rod holders on them ordered. I'm going to be removing my out and down riggers while trolling for walleye. Even with the out and downs pointed back, they are in the way some times. I seldom run riggers for walleye, but I'll still have the two inside ones if I need to use them. I will mount the rod holders on the two swivel bases. This new set up will open up the corners. Of course I'll keep the out and downs for salmon fishing. You all know Priority1 is not short of rod holders. I'm a firm believer that you can't have too many of them. This was a suggestion of a good friend Tom T. aka TallTails. It's time for upgrades. What are your off season purchases going to be? I would like to get a chart plotter sonar combo. Any suggestions on them?? Don't go too nuts, ya know I'm a Po Boy.
  7. Welcome aboard Bruce.

  8. Matt, I run some OR12s for walleye and have used them pulling core for salmon. I'm not sure what you mean be a zero setting on them. I also have a pair of the OR31s that were designed for salmon and steelhead. If I'm running long cores I'll have them on the Offshore OR31s. I use the OR12s for the shorter cores, so I get double duty out of them. Frank:)
  9. I don't fish for walleye after dark. I do use some glow in the dark blades and beads in low light and full sun conditions. Walleyes do actively feed at night, and their glowing eyes help them do it.
  10. Bruce, A very warm welcome to you personally. I know you will like it here. Thank you very much for your generous support. We all know the "Chairman of the Boards" can gitter done.
  11. The main thing with running 4 or more boards to the side is gradual turns. The larger the spread, the more room you need to run them. Stay way away from the packs. Like Jim said, it's best to go with someone who knows what they're doing. The boards are a great tool. I run Offshore brand for walleye and salmon.
  12. The short answer to this is Yes. See longer answer below. A lot of our trolling is in open water with little if any noticeable structure. Sometimes we are fishing weed lines, rocky shorelines, shipping channel, and some real impressive humps. The game does change.
  13. Two Thumbs up for Offshore. I run 10 of their inline boards on a regular basis. I do use the snap weights also. A warm welcome to this new sponsor.
  14. Nice pic Andy. Ya just have to respect the water.
  15. Adam did a splendid job, with that short story about our home waters. If you only have a couple of boards, I'd pick up a couple of more. I like the Offshore brand, with the tattle flags. Walleye are know to hit lightly a lot of the time. The only thing I do slightly different is I run bouncers off my boards, almost exclusively, instead of inline weights. I may not necessarily run the bouncers on the bottom. Muskegon Lake is also a good for some walleye whacking. My typical set up is 2 oz bottom bouncers off the boards, and three oz bouncers over the side. I run home tied harnesses behind the bouncers. Even my bouncers are home made, consisting of egg sinkers and SS wire. The walleye don't usually seem overly fussy. Don't complicate things. Your learning curve will be shortened, if you can hook on with someone for a trip or two.
  16. Jim, Good Job. It's just a sad day, when we have to pick up our toys.
  17. WTG!!! That's the way to end a GRRRRRR8 season.
  18. Andy, She's a beauty.
  19. GJ on the Kings and Steel.
  20. Mike, Nice looking boat. Ya know I like the hardtops.
  21. WTG Jay. I luv that port.
  22. Thanks for the report. I hope you do better next time. I'm glad you were able to make it out there.
