  1. Jason, Keep on them, and the keepers will come. The little ones are our future.
  2. Rich, Congrats. Keep the pics coming, and we will forgive you.
  3. We all NEED it. Most of the water that replenishes the Great Lakes comes from snow melt. We need it to float our boats. The fact that more falls in the Lake Superior watershed, and the West side of the state, is OK by me.
  4. I saw some in Northwoods made out of a mesh material.
  5. Dan, At least you were able to make it out. I second that about kids.
  6. A good place for it Glynn.
  7. Gotta Luv the Saginaw Bay Watershed.
  8. Another Mort Neff in the making. GL with this new exciting venture.
  9. GJ Ken, Mike, and Terry. Shame on you all for holding out on us.
  10. Wishing everyone @ GLF a Happy and prosperous New Year. Tight Lines.
  11. Jason, I'm glad you made it out. Those undersized fish are our future. Never make eye contact with a fish, unless you can net or gaff it. It is not only bad luck, it also frightens the fish. Sorry ya lost that big un.
  12. Beam me up Scotty. WTG:)
  13. GJ Terry. I love reading your reports. They keep me tuned, until I can return to the water.
  14. Welcome back Glenn. You are still family at this site.
  15. GL with the contest. It sounds like a lot of fun, for a worthwhile cause.
  16. Come on Spring. Ya know I like a boat under my A$$. Actually I have some limitations, that keep me sidelined during the Winter. I do enjoy reading the hard water reports. I fish with great intensity once the soft water season is here. Those huge Winter walleye pics, are what keeps me tuned until Spring.
  17. WTG Ken. Nothing like some fresh fried pan fish.
  18. That's what I was thinking. That is a HD rig. You would think there would be some warning signs up.
  19. I believe they are model OR-18.
  20. GJ Bomber. Ya gotta love it.
  21. If I see someone shunning a rod on my boat, I throw em overboard.
  22. I have around 20 of the Okuma MA DX reels, from MA15DX up to the MA45DX. Most of mine are the 20 series that I use for walleye. I have had only a couple of minor problems, and you know I do fish a lot. The Okuma Magna Pros will perform well for both walleye and Salmon. My first experience with the Magna Pros came with 2 Dipsy rods included in my boat package. These reels need to be lubricated at least yearly, and more so if they are used a lot. You will NEVER see me reel in a fish with the clicker on, even on other peoples boats. There is no logical reason for the clicker to be used while reeling. I do put the clicker back on just as the fish is about to be netted. The only reason I put it back on is because I like to put the lever back after the fish is securely in the net. The Lever back will save the rod. Take the clicker off, when reeling fish in, no matter what brand of reel. That is one of the rules on my boat, because I know the guy that pays for the reels. I also have 8 Penns and a couple of Diawa LCs. I just replaced 2 Penn clicker pawls last year after several years of use.
  23. It's time to give all the gear a good going over.
  24. They do look like the Okuma Magna Pro, however they are not cheaper.
