  1. Jeff, Can we all come over and play in your BIG sand box?? Cool Pic. I had a hunch you were going to post some work pics. I lightened the pic up a bit.
  2. Mike, A lil government job??? Maybe some unistrut.
  3. I like the shelf area also. The way I look at it is fish Mon-Fri. I like to fish some events on the weekends, just to make me appreciate the Mon-Fri fishing.
  4. It's always a good idea to include the price in your add. It is the number one question on peoples minds.
  5. Looks great.
  6. VN Kings.
  7. I have painted some with spray cans and brushes. I have used a super glow powder mixed in clear lacquer and brushed it on. The fish are not as fussy as fishermen. Here comes a salmon. This spoon looks like a Kavorkian. I think I'll pass there are some drips in the paint and some brush marks. Some of my favorite spinner blades are painted with a 50 cent can of Rustoleum spray paint that I got on a clearance table. I luv that purple raspberry color.
  8. I would bet my last yankee dollar, that this Sunrise sider has a bunch of quality pics to lay on us.
  9. Ya gotta know I luv dem hardtops. The Penn Yan is a quality boat.
  10. You chose a darn good radio, and the Shakespeare antenna will complete the package. I'm running a 20+ yo Icom with a Shakespeare antenna, and it amazes me how far it will reach.
  11. Manistee is liberal about letting you sleep in the parking lot. I have done it before. There is also a nice State Campground. I like the Insta-Launch Campground. If you do stay @ Insta-Launch don't even think about Launching there. Launch at the City Launch near the mouth of the Manistee River.
  12. I wish I lived closer. I may just do the Manistee one.
  13. Mike, Clown patterns have worked well for me in early spring fishing. In the 80s we ran a lot of Hot-N-Tots on the Saginaw Bay. One thing we soon realized, was the ones with the red diving lips did better than the others. We painted a lot of the lips red, and even used magic markers on some. We had one minnow type lure with the red head we nicknamed the "Dog D--k":). What I'm getting at, I think the red head is the key. You may be able to find a similar lure and doctor it up.
  14. Ludington Manistee area.
  15. You asked for honest opinions and that is what I gave. As far as details, how about cheating for one. I have seen it first hand. I enjoy the sport but will not compete when it's best cheater wins. I'm NOT saying it's going to happen, but there is nothing to stop it, Way too Loose. I didn't want to ruffle feathers, but honest opinions were asked for. Again JMHO. Peace Bro. GL to all.
  16. Nice shot Jeff. I fished out in front a quite a few times.
  17. I'll help any way I can. That's part of the reason I wanted to be there. I'm riding with Wolf's Den. I can be the bouncer or Mr. Congeniality, or anything in between. I'm old and slow but can gitter done. A big THANKS to you Mike for putting this together.
  18. She's a thing of beauty. It gives you a lot of pride and pleasure I'm sure.
  19. It is working for me. Way Cool
  20. A Tournament or Derby that is spread out like this can be a PITA for those running it, and also the participants. It's too wide open. JMHO:)
  21. I miss that oldtimer. A little bit a wine in every recipe. A little bit of wine in the cook also.
  22. And Ken knows where every sharp break in that lake is located. I just thought I'd post a screen shot of the SeaClear Log Book, along with my other folders. This program makes it simple to keep a log.
  23. Leads are way too long. You never want to exceed the length of the Dipsy Rod with whatever you have behind the dipsy. I like about a 5 foot leader from the Dipsy to the Flasher, and the fly leader length about 1-1/2 to 3 times the length of the flasher. I haven't been fishing Salmon as much as I used to. I have been concentrating on the Saginaw Bay walleye. I do make a few trips to Lake MI each yr. When the Salmon slowed on Lake Huron, I just shifted gears and concentrated on what was there.
  24. Remember "Remember He Haw", and Grampa Jones "Whats for Supper Grandpa" skit. Well were not having turnip greens and back eyed peas, so forget about that crap. First off ya have to have a good cast iron fry pan. Throw away those plastic coated sissy pans, that your wife likes. Why is it, the no scratch POS pans are all scratched up anyway? Start the pan a warmin but not too hot. Add equal amounts of butter and olive oil enough to cover the bottom of the pan and then some. Add some diced sweet onions as little or as much as ya like. Add some salmon fillets, and cook both sides. Remember keep the pan about medium heat. When the fillets are cooked, smother them with your favorite salsa and let the salsa warm up. Nothin to the cookin stuff. Serve with tortilla chips, barley pop, or your favorite soda. I like some tabasco and parmesan sprinkled on mine. Oh!! If some fat A$$ sat on the tortilla chips, just dump the crumbs on your plate and eat em with your fork. For desert a couple of mint cookies. If your going to continue with the barley pop, skip the cookies. This whole darn meal can be prepped and cooked in about 15 minutes. Like I said nothin to this cookin stuff.
  25. I don't think Kobalt makes any power tools.
