  1. GJ on the early season fish. It will get better.
  2. Life's a dance you learn as you go. Most everything is worth a try.
  3. Kevin, GJ on those early season fish.
  4. A good rule of thumb with the riggers is the 100 ft total. 50 down 50 back, 30 down 70 back etc. This is just a general guideline. Oranges and Reds are good colors early and shallow. I like flies or squid behind a flasher on the Dipsys, but that's not cast in stone.
  5. Mike, I'll trade a white one for a black.
  6. That's a 10/4 Paul. I just talked with Jack yesterday. AuGres River is open with all the docks in. Tawas DNR Launch is open with the docks in.
  7. Steve, A warm welcome to you. Way to get the seasons skunk out of the box.
  8. Jim, Sounds like a good deal. It's tough to get an auto engine rebuilt for that.
  9. Looking Good.
  10. LMAO I had some sausage with my eggs this morning. I just hope I don't upset the vegetable farmers. I try not to get too caught up in all this BS. I had fried fish for supper yesterday, today it's venison chili. I'm NOT trying to make any statements, but this is the way this country boy survives. I think the chili keeps me politically correct, with some veggies and road kill. Again LMAO
  11. Aluminum tip. In a pinch you can mill aluminum with a carbide tipped blade on a table saw.
  12. Duane, Thanks for the report.
  13. Jim, Welcome to the GLF site. Let us know if you need any help. I know you will like it here.
  14. Tim, A warm welcome to the GLF site. You will like it here. I fish AuGres a touch more than my wife wants me to. We seldom run riggers on the bay. Small 2-1/2 spoons and even harnesses will work. Problem with the riggers is most walleye will not release especially if the releases are tight to allow for rod loading. I may try some Blacks Releases on mine this year. I most always run a spread of 10 Offshore In Line boards with the tattle flags, and two 3 oz B.B. with out boards. The riggers are an option especially when it gets rough.
  15. Thanks Mike. The 30 minute one would be great.
  16. Jimmy, Check out this place. You may be able to buy cheaper than rebuild. http://www.michiganmotorz.com/
  17. GJ Matt, I love that port.
  18. Buy a brass drive bar and tap it in evenly. Put it backwards so you can just pivot out the center next time it needs changing. No puller or diver needed then. They were all installed that way in the beginning. Dealers wanted MO money. The center portion is the only portion that wears out. Make sure the grease hole lines up.
  19. Sounds like a no brainer. Politics always enters the equation.
  20. I have a log on my Laptop GPS.
  21. You need to remove some foam and add a backing plate.
  22. A warm welcome to the GLF site. We all talk big when the Boss is not around.
