    smoking pike

Anything can be smoked, but the fish and meat that absorb the smoke flavor better are the fattier fish and meats. The exception to that are the jerky type products but they are dry and tough like they are supposed to be.
  3. Mike, Steel on flies is not against any rules. Don't tell anyone what we use over here for them. LMAO:lol:
  4. Bob, GJ on the Iced Chrome.
  5. Ken GJ on the Winter eyes. Don't give up yet.
  6. Jay, GJ on the smelt.
  7. Mary, Thanks for posting this.
  8. Steve, A warm welcome to the GLF site. Adding a Dive Bomb or a snap weight may be an option to get more depth. There will be a lot of folks chiming in with a lot of good advice.
  9. Smart:)
  10. Spiderwire Stealth. Not sure if it's the best but it's what I use and haven't had any trouble with it. One thing with the braids I like to terminate with the palomar knot.
  11. Welcome to the GLF site. From one old guy to another.

  12. Rick, A warm welcome to the GLF site. Holler if you need any help.
  13. Tony, The guys that don't maintain their rigs will be dock side with the engine cover off next Spring. So what if they tie up a dock for an hour and a half. If they do manage to start they will probably lose power 5 miles out and need a tow. It's the same guys you see on the road with burnt out headlights etc. Darn it.@%$& I broke my New Year resolution about bitchin.
  14. Capt. Chris, Keep the reports and pics coming. It will have to hold me until April. BTW GJ
  15. Steve, It's always FUN spending someone else's $$$$$.
  16. The word clear presents it's problems both Summer and Winter.
  17. Two thumbs up for Frank's. I'm in the place quite often.:thumb: It's all in the name.
  18. Good point Mike. I know one thing if you were fish pro or am you would be a contender.
  19. Happy New Year to everyone here at GLF. Here's hoping that 2011 will be our best year yet. It's easy to curse our misfortunes and forget about our blessings. TG for all he has given us especially family, friends, and health. The GLF site is like family.
  20. I have some old Cannon electrics that came with my boat. If I was going to upgrade I'd go with Big Jon. Big Jon's service is second to none and, Lord Of The Riggers, a site advertiser has always gave our members tremendous deals on Big John equipment. I have some Big Jon Multi Set rod holders on Priority1
  21. Adam, A warm welcome to you. Just holler if you need any help. That is a beautiful stretch of country along highway #2.
  22. Ken, Nice pics.
  23. I have 4 older electric Cannons that came with Priority1. I never run more than 10# weights and have had a few issues with them. Since Cannon changed hands they are not as liberal with their warranty. I had some issues with some broken metal gears that were no longer available and some of the plastic parts. I was able to weld the gears and get by. If I used my riggers more I'd upgrade to some Big Jon electrics. If you decide to go with Big Jon's give Tony @ Lord of the Riggers a call. here is his link. http://www.lordoftheriggers.com/
  24. Capt Rich, Those will come in handy as curb feelers up and down the piers when it's combat fishing time.
