  1. Noah, A warm welcome to the GLF site.
  2. Ken, It looks good. Getting the rods up a bit will keep the Diver rod tips out of the water.
  3. Eric, She looks real good. It looks like it got a lot of TLC.
  4. Steve, Ya can't start them too early. You wore the little guy right out. Priceless.
  5. Shane, A warm welcome to the GLF site. The Sea Nymphs were good boats and that is a good engine. Have it checked out before you buy.
  6. Adam, I'm not sure what you have, but I don't think any adapter fittings are available for portable tanks. I could be wrong on availability. Your initial post said, "I have a 3 gallon plastic gas tank for my kicker and I would like to place it under the floor of my boat and extend the neck of the tank up". I saw an accident waiting to happen and was concerned.
  7. Petep, Welcome to the GLF site. That is one detailed informative first post. Thanks for the Information. Just holler if you need any help. You will like it here.
  8. Brian, A warm welcome to the GLF site. Like mentioned above used manual riggers are plentiful so start with them. Divers and Boards can get it done but when the rigger bite is hot it's the best and straight to the fish type action.
  9. It's illegal and dangerous to enclose a portable gas tank. The Coast Guard is the Authority that regulates these things.
  10. Dean, A warm welcome to the GLF site. Just holler if we can help.
  11. Ken, We have both seen when a matter of a few yds. can make a big difference.
  12. Aaron, Thanks for the udate on Lowrance. I'm still running an old Lowrance LMS-350 combo that has been fantastic. I run a Laptop Chartplotter and a Garmin Color Sonar now along with it. When I'm in doubt about any thing on the Garmin Sonar I refer to the old Lowrance. I can pick up a small fish glued tight to the bottom better with the old Lowrance. It took a licking and is still ticking. I friend even gave me another display for it. It's good to know Lowrance got it's act back together. I never had any issues with them, But I heard a lot of horror stories the past few years.
  13. A warm welcome to you Flymaker.
  14. Glow squids behind a flasher or dodger are great. New things come out and old things get forgotten. They still work well. A lot of meat rigs use multiple squid attractors ahead of the meat head.
  15. Jason, It still looks like you are sleeping in. Ya gotta have fish in the box before the crack of dawn.
  16. Eric, Welcome aboard. Just holler if you need anything. I fish the Saginaw Bay a lot. I'm going to move this thread to the welcome forum.
  17. I know they sell them @ Insta-Launch in Manistee, and a Place in Frankfort that I can't remember the name. Frank's Great Outdoors also has them at certain times.
  18. Milt, A warm welcome to the GLF site. Just holler if you need any help.
  19. TIP: If you do use the OR18s always lock them down with the locking arm away from the board. They can be locked down two different ways. If you lock them towards the board they are a lot slower to unsnap and remove the board. Locking them away from the board it's a quick thumb snap to open that release. It makes me even grumpier if someone onboard locks one down the wrong way. I have thrown people overboard for lesser infractions.
  20. It could even save a marriage.
  21. I use 65# Spider Wire Stealth Just because I have it in Quantity. Spider Wire or Power Pro, in 50# test will gitter done. There is sure to be more input when it comes to brands and likes and dislikes.
  22. Capt. Mark, A warm welcome to the GLF site. Let us know if you need any help. Keep the reports coming.
  23. I like the single hooks, but like every thing their are pros and cons. The #1 con of single hooks is brain hooking shakers. The pros The single hooks are much safer, Less trouble in the net, better hookups, fish rarely get off, they store easier, and much more bone penetrating hooking power. Sharp hooks are a must single or treble.
  24. I tried this recipe last night with a slight variation. I used Italian bread crumbs instead of cracker crumbs. I pan fried it. The salmon flavor was very mild and most people will like it. I warmed up the last couple of pieces for breakfast today. It was still VG. Thanks for posting this recipe.
