You might check with some trailer places and see how much it would be to replace the spindle. You may be able to get it done for what you are thinking about spending on an axle. I'll be replacing my bearings soon. They probably don't need it but I have one seal that leaks a little. Grease them when needed.

Louie, A warm welcome to the GLF site. It's good to have another Eastsider here. I live between Tawas and AuGres and fish the Saginaw Bay a lot. I seldom fish weekends unless the weather shuts me down during the week. I have fished HB, PA, and Grindstone. It's been a heck of a long time since I hit the Port Hope Hotel for a burger. Looking forward to your reports.

I fish the Saginaw Bay a lot mostly out of AuGres. Just holler if we can help you in any way. BTW I like your handle. It sounds like a new old dance. LOL:lol:

Cary, I take it you won your case. I have a strong case but I have in the past also. I have never been before the Tribunal before. In 96 I filed to go before them and before we received a hearing date the assessor contacted me and we settled it. It seems like it's standard procedure for the B. O. R. to deny all claims legitimate or not. It's tough not to feel contempt towards them. One year before I could say anything a B.O.R. member said "we are not talking taxable". At my insistence we did talk taxable, but I may as well have sat in the truck. Any way the B.O.R. is the only gateway to the Tribunal. I hope they are more reasonable.
