  1. Rik, You salvaged the day in style.
  2. Amen to that. I had an offer to sell one of mine early in the AM and I declined. Both nets are in play at once almost every trip.
  3. Gotta Luv Dem pics through a bunch of rods. The only way it could be topped is if two guys were on the back fighting a double. VN professional looking pic.
  4. Chris, Thanks for the informative post. Do you know of any common items paint etc. that is exceptional in it's UV reflective properties. I just knew this was going to be a very informative thread when Don started it. Anyone else have some UV knowledge to share.
  5. Wouldn't need to fill them full of foam if you could seal them so the handle wouldn't fill with water.
  6. ^5s around to the Plumcrazy crew.
  7. I'm not on Facebook. Maybe you can move the pic to this site and then post it in this thread.
  8. Scott, GJ with the kids onboard. They will remember that trip the rest of their days.
  9. Kevin, GJ out of SH. It would have been nice to get those kids in a flurry of action.
  10. Many things glow under a black light including bodily fluids. Crime scene investigators use black lights to detect blood, urine, etc, etc. I'm not suggesting that we make our own UV substances, just that there are a ton of different things that will glow UV. I would think that fish spawn would be one of them. I know a fisherman that will spit on every bait or lure he puts down. Does it help?? It didn't seem to hurt. Please nothing weird on the back of the boat.
  11. Ryan, Good finish after a late start.
  12. Terry and Crew, FANTASTIC.
  13. Jay, Fantastic Fishing. Acts of kindness don not go unrewarded. Thanks for helping a fisherman in need.
  14. Duane, Keep hammering them.
  15. Grant, GJ on the wake up call. I did get mine on line a week or so ago and printed two copies one for the boat and one for my billfold. I even got a break on the price this year.
  16. Don, You may have stumbled across something. The do say the tonic is bitter. If they drink like a fish maybe they will hit it. (Pun Intended) The UV properties would probably help. I'm not sure about the taste and smell.
  17. Actually my girl is good when it comes to my toys. We are both sensible and if either of us want or need something we get it if we can afford it. Afford is the key word. Pension and SS $$$ don't go far so we have to save for some things. I'm going to use 7 ft Okumas for my OR12 Offshore boards. I think the shorter and identical rods will work better in my trees.
  18. Matt, I'm in to Frank's a few times a month. They are about 35-40 miles S. of me. Maybe I'll stop in. Old dogs can learn new tricks. It would be nice to finally meet you.
  19. 2- 8ft-6in Diawa Wilderness DR862MR Medium action 12-20# These rods were only used a few times and didn't fit my program. They are in excellent condition. $22 takes them both. SOLD 2- Diawa Jupiter rods These have seen some action. Both have been repaired but are very usable. One is about 7 ft the other is 8ft-6in. 8-17# Medium. These rod were identical. A repair made one shorter. The longer one has a repair on the but end. $10 gets both. 1- Cannon Power Troll 8ft-6in. 12-20# Medium. This rod is in VG condition. The but cap can be removed for a Gimbal but end. $10 4- Master by Penn Graphite C 8ft-6in 8-15# all are in usable good to fair condition one is about 7ft-10in because of a repair. $25 takes all four. SOLD All but the Diawa Wilderness rods were used regularly on my boat. The Wilderness rods would be better for Salmon. The rest of the rods were used both for salmon and walleye. Get me out of the dog house. My wife is counting fishing rods.
  20. Garlic oil is available in health food stores. There are several on line and also in the major malls. A little goes a long way. I'm not sure but Walmart may even have it.
  21. Be careful not to over grease. Look at the springs. If the plate and zerk that the spring pushes against is way in and the spring is not compressed you can add grease as you watch the spring and plate move out. Don't let the plate travel enough to totally compress the spring. It's very easy to blow the seals by over greasing. When I first got my boat the previous owner over greased and I had a brake drum partially filled with grease. I had to do a brake job as well as replace bearing and seals.
  22. Wtg Phil, Adam, and Roy.
