I do like the Black's releases. I run them on my two inside riggers last year and bought two more for the out and downs. Thanks for the heads up on the NFG Black's wannabes.
I had a USCG inspection in AuGres a couple of years ago. The USCG auxiliary was conducting voluntary inspections at the launch site. Any inspection is a good thing.
Lakers like it slow and easy. The wobble glows are another good choice. Try and find some close to monkey puke green. Run like Spin N Glows described above. Try some Cow Bells.
Tawas: As of Sat. eve. the DNR launch near the State Police Post was still iced in but should clear out soon. The launch @ the mouth of Tawas River is being used. AuGres: Sun morning the river is open but docks still not in. Smaller boats are trolling the mouth of the AuGres River. A few hundred yards away from the mouth guys are ice fishing. A lot of activity on the Rifle River @ Omer. I didn't stop. Arenac County Sheriff was keeping busy. Don't drink and drive.
Jeff, A warm welcome to the GLF site. I use a older Fish Hawk. It came with my boat. I'm over on the MI side of Lake Huron and fish the Saginaw Bay about 3 0r 4 times more than my wife things I should.
