  9. Duane, You are so welcome. Us old dogs have to stick together.
  10. Big Shu, Quite a story man. ^5s. They sure weren't being neighborly. I hope some of our Canadian members can rattle some of their politicians and smooth out some of these lumps. Maybe our BP is jacking them also???
  11. Unfortunately when rigging and electrical gets installed by dealers sometimes it's done by less than capable people. Big Jack a friend of mine purchased an New Alumacraft from an AuGres Dealer. He has since sold the boat due to age but he was so proud of the boat and the dealer. In reality the dealer's work was horrific. They installed two BJ riggers on swivel bases in a track. Instead of obtaining proper spacers the dealer stacked several washers in the track so the swivel bases would sit high enough in order to swivel. The riggers would shake rattle and roll. I fixed that for him. The electrical hook up to the riggers was done using un-polarized 120vac 2 wire electrical plugs. If the riggers were plugged in wrong they would work in reverse. These places hire kids off the street and the next day they are experts. You pay marina prices and get crappy workmanship. A lot of the Big Box Home Improvement stores are the same. I'm a tradesman and I have to laugh at some of the responses I get at these places. It's unfortunate but a fact of life. So it's not only BPS.
  12. eBay has some. http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=Mercury+voltage+regulator+&_sacat=0&_odkw=Mercury+voltage+regulator+5+wire&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313 I boats also has some. http://www.iboats.com/Voltage-Regulator-Sierra/dm/view_id.174789
  13. Duane, Here is a Iboats link with some test procedures for that 5 wire VR. I hope it helps you. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=325462&page=1
  14. Rick GJ on the sunrise side. Thanks for the report. Has anyone heard how the herring plants are doing?? Herring are native to the GLs.
  15. Good to hear from ya Big Shu. Keep whackin and slammin.
  16. Typical year. Last year was the exception.
  17. John, Way to whack em in Standish. I have the eyes on hold in AuGres now until I can get back on em. It would have been nice to get those kids reeling in a bunch of gators.
  18. The plug bite is there especially mid July to run time. The light colored glows seem to go the best in the low light. The glow ghost and similar will get it done. Evans, A warm welcome to the GLF site. I'm looking forward to your reports. Love it @ Frankfort.
  19. Scott, The first three handicap places are reserved for locals. If you are going to be there just call and I'll get up early and save it for ya. Your Show finish in the Fireman's Tourney probably got you a key to AuGres. GJ my friend.
  20. Duane, Don't give up so easily that site also has Outboard alternators. Here is another link. Same place different page. http://www.db-starter-alternator.com/c-7779-mariner.aspx Do you have a voltmeter on your dash? How many Volts does it read with engine rev @ about 1000?? After start up it should be about 14.5 VDC. If you don't have a meter on the dash put a multimeter on the battery. Once you determine if it's bad a local alternator starter shop or yourself can troubleshoot and repair it. The toughest part of working on outboards is everything is jammed in so tightly. GL my friend.
  21. Tim, It's good to have you here at GLF. Feel free to call me if you need any help.

  22. Kyle, GJ Saturday night. Forget about Sunday just get back on em.
