  1. Alan, A warm welcome to the GLF site. There are a quite a few people here that fish Frankfort and some that venture up farther. Just holler if you need any help.
  2. I do the same thing with my toughbook. The screen is brighter also when it's plugged into the charger.
  3. Greg, Thanks for making the point about the odd size track. It's strange that he would do that. I never noticed the size difference.
  4. Nice video Jim.
  5. Hers is some on eBay if you don't need the wiring. Less $$$ and about 1/2 the shipping charges. http://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-LOW-PROFILE-UTILITY-BOAT-RV-CAMPER-CARGO-DUMP-TRAILER-TAIL-LIGHT-KIT-/290616690085?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item43aa1ac5a5 I always check eBay before I pull the trigger.
  6. Troy, A warm welcome to the GLF site. Just give a yell if ya need any help.
  7. LED trailer light Kit sale. At checkout enter SAVE10 for an additional 10% off. Good for the rest of this year. Just thought I'd pass it along for safety sake. I may have to bite the bullet and get some myself. $36.50 plus shipping. They also have the smaller ones for 80 inch wide or less trailers for about $4 less. These have wire hardware and Lic plate holder. http://www.easternmarine.com/optronics-led-trailer-light-kit-tll-16rk
  8. On a 18 foot boat the 7 foot rods are tough to beat. I recently went from 8ft-6inch rods down to 7 footers on the riggers. I have a 22 Islander. It's a lot easier to move rods over top of a loaded 7 than a 8+. Longer rods on smaller boats tend to be a bit more cumbersome. In the end it all boils down to personal preference and what works the best for you. Rich, A very warm welcome to the GLF Site. Just holler if you need any help.
  9. Dan, Many people use their boats for more than one purpose. With tracks everything can be easily removed. Step pads can be installed in the tracks for a nice clean look. Tracks also help if a piece of equipment isn't quite where you want it. Sometimes after using stuff you wish you mounted it differently and sometimes your needs and methods change. I don't have tracks on my rig but I spent a lot of time dry trying everything in the garage before drilling.
  10. http://shop.markiesmounts.com/main.sc;jsessionid=D8D5BB3E6B4CB6A7ED52BB1C2BC9D4A6.qscstrfrnt04 This place is in Mikado MI. $36 track $50.
  11. Traxtech is a great Michigan company located in my old stomping grounds.
  12. Look what you can get for $6 if you have a IPad or IPod. These Apps along with the weather apps would be invaluable on the boat. One of these days I may get rid of my rotary dial phone and evolve into the new millennium. http://marine.geogarage.com/mobile Has anyone tried the water proof packs that vacuum seal the IPads inside? A lot of cool stuff is available. Technology can boggle the mind thinking of what tomorrow will bring.
  13. Ed, GJ on the Steel.
  14. Tarrey, GJ on the steel and pink. I edited your post and added the pics in.
  15. Jim, It looks good.
  16. Thompson Boat Company ran on some real rough seas at different times. Here is a link with some info. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thompson_Boat
  17. Tony, Good find. Ya know I'm a hardtop man. There is so much you can do with one without the need for extra arches trees etc. Rocket launchers are nice also.
  18. I have also run the Indiana blades and the Dakotas but if you haven't guessed yet I still favor the Colorado. I have never cared much for the Willow Leaf Blades. I have never tried the Chopper Blades. Has anyone used the Chopper Blades? Does anyone favor the Chopper Blades?
  19. The best to everyone on the GLF site always.
  20. Any of you grey whiskered guys remember the June bug Spinner? I have used these with some success also. I still like the Colorado blades better. Any spinner rig will get it done. What it boils down to is what works for you and what you have confidence in. I also like smile blades once in awhile and make my own. I made them out of plastic plates, cookie boxes, and other stuff, all adorned with a little prism tape.
  21. WTG Mike. Nothing like the cold weather steel.
  22. That is a good deal. All that new equipment adds up in hurry. I know there is a lot of labor in it also. All your stuff seems like it's priced to sell and usually does in short order.
  23. I have used some Spin N Glows in the usual good walleye colors with some success. I'd rather use #4 Colorado blades with quick change clevises. With the Spin N Glows it's change the whole rig instead of just the blade when the eyes get fussy for a certain color. Most anything will catch walleye but I like to use the user friendly stuff. The Saginaw Bay walleye are usually not that fussy. I run these spinners on a two hook crawler harnesses.
  24. Mike, Enjoy every minute you can with those boys. Hunter and Wyatt are growing up fast.
  25. "Take the clicker off. I know the guy that bought those reels."
