  1. I just got in from the garage. I had the battery charger on the boat overnight. I moved the charger over to the lawn tractor. Don't let the batteries go dead or you'll be replacing them. I probably should load test my boat battery and replace it if borderline. I just ordered a set of Mercruiser Outdrive gaskets. I will remove the outdrive, Check the gimbal bearing, check alignment, check bellows, grease all zerks including spline and U joint. I'll probably do a lot of other little things that I notice in the next couple of months. Anyone needing to borrow an alignment bar in my area just holler. It don't get much use but it's nice to have. I'm going to change wheel bearings on the trailer, and adjust the brakes in the next week or so.
  2. Orval, Nice video.

  6. Have you ever shined a UV Black light on the BTB or on herring oil? BTB material can be bought at most fabric stores by the yard or fraction of a yard. Some Walmarts even have it. Just go looking and you will recognize it. It may be da smell or it may be da light it's any ones guess what makes dem bite. Meat runners, what is your preferred speed?
  7. I run night crawlers with a secret elixir sprayed on them. I have taken Kings, Lakers, Steelhead, Browns, and even an occasional walleye.
  8. Rudey, A warm welcome to the GLF site.
  9. I agree. I'm never locked to any one depth. Use the tools you have and come up with a plan. Run em fast, run em slow, run em high, and run em low. Find out where and what they want and give em lots of it.
  10. Capt. Drew, Good report and video from FL. Some nice fish taken with those fly rods and center pins.
  11. Jimmy, Thanks for sharing your project with us. She will be better than new when you get done.
  12. Please pass me one of those slabs and a cold one.
  13. So what isn't free???? This is all out there. Just have to do a little homework. Here is another State of MI Link with some more colorful charts. http://www.fishweb.com/recreation/fishing/lakes/index.html
  14. Here is a little better one of Houghton Lake. It will be added to my son's Toughbook chart plotter. He uses the laptop in his work as well.
  15. Capt. Chris, It's always good to get a fishing report from the sunshine state.
  16. Most everyone here knows that I run a Toughbook Chartplotter with free NOAA charts on free software called SeaClear. I have been using it for a couple of years. I spent some time today putting some coordinates on a DNR chart of Houghton Lake. I used a program within SeaClear called MapCal. I obtained some Coordinates of some inlets from sun earth tools. Anyone can do this with any chart available on line. This took a little geek work but if you fish multiple inland lakes it's worth it to have a chartplotter for them. This can also be loaded on home PC, as a planning tool. Note the Coordinates on the bottom right of the pic, they are the cursors position. The Coordinates top right are your actual position if you have a usb GPS puck plugged into the laptop or PC. The red area up top indicates the position isn't locked in. I hope this helps.
  17. Nice job Izzy.
  18. Mike, Thanks for the report.
  19. Kevin, GJ on Ducks.
  20. These fish could also be used for animal feed and fertilizer. Who knows, you may be eating a McCarp sandwich down the road. A slice of cheese and some tartar sauce will camouflage the taste of anything. Large scale commercial harvest should have been underway a long time ago.
  21. For Trees contact Tony from Lord of the Riggers for some Big Jon's. Your best bet is to call and talk with him. http://www.lordoftheriggers.com/
  22. Byron, A warm welcome to the GLF site.
  23. There are a lot of stamping place in MI. A die would have to be made to stamp the spoon out. If you want to stamp 100 of them the cost per spoon would blow you away. Making a die and setting up the press is what cost $$$$. Bopp Bush Co. AuGres MI
