  1. Aaron, Thanks for sharing the tips.
  2. Any one have a dive curve chart for the Slide Diver or is it about the same as a Dipsy? I think I would also use a snap along with a swivel on the leader. That way the Diver could be stored easier without the leader.
  3. With that set up you do lose the slide feature. The light bite feature does have its Pros. I may try them when targeting deeper eyes. I never liked the Original Side Diver because of the Spring and the rubber. Using Slide feature there are too many points for the line to get messed up. Some swear by them and others at them.
  4. Scott, A warm welcome to the GLF site.
  5. Kevin, Thanks for the report. I'm glad you were able to get out there.
  6. Mine is 11 years older than yours and it's a hardtop. You may have to look close but there are custom quad trees on it also. I have the trolling bag in on the port side and the helmsman is handing the starboard bag out the window to a waiting hand. I remember this day well. The pic was taken by MFS from the Detroit area. This pic was take off AuGres. A limit of eyes was ours that day. It looks like were packing 15 rods.
  7. You can't go wrong.
  8. JB, Love them crappies out of ice cold water.
  9. Joe, I don't have a bird now but I have never heard anyone complain about theirs. From what I have heard their customer service is second to none. I did have a bird sonar on my 16 ft former boat and it performed flawlessly.
  10. I'm not implying that UV is a bad thing just that we had it all along. I took my newly acquired UV light and was going over my old stuff. Even my old chartreuse, orange, and pink jigs were very bright under the UV light. I believe there is definitely something to the UV theory. All my favorites were really bright under the UV light. Some of the spoons and plugs that did well in the past had definite UV properties. You can try this at home. Get a UV light and check your old stuff.
  11. Mark, You are right on.
  12. Jason, I should add that I'm also running a Laptop Chartplotter on my 22 Starcraft Islander. I wouldn't be without that.
  13. ^5s to Hunter and Wyatt and a poke in the shoulder to their dad. GL tomorrow guys.
  14. No need to keep upgrading usable equipment. I put a new Garmin Color Sonar on my boat 2 years ago. I have an old LMS 350 Lowrance that I still use and sometimes I don't even turn on the color unit. I actually prefer the old unit. I know everyone loves their new toys but I still play with my old ones. I'm old school so I know there will be different opinions. Jason, A warm welcome to the GLF site. Holler if you need any help.
  15. She's a fine lady.
  16. Love that chrome. Just like an old Cadillac bumper.
  17. I don't use the garlic scent myself but know of anglers that use the garlic powder. A lil bit of this goes along way. It's available in the spice section of super markets or even some dollar stores.
  18. Tony, I'm sure there would be more than myself interested in this subject. Thanks for sharing your expertise with us.
  19. Jim, I like your Blog. The Play Dough is a nice ride.
  20. Randy, Did you ever do that EFI project on the boat?? I know you had some major expenses a couple of years ago.
  21. I hope that this trend reverses. It will mean more jobs in countless MI industries.
  22. Thanks for the report. I enjoyed the pics.
  23. Sharing specialty tools helps.
