  1. Another vote for Big Jon. Call Tony @ Lord of The Riggers.
  2. Bomber, It's a good thing the camera man is friendly. I'd have been tempted to set the hook on ya. Are Most of the fish being zapped with the stinger? Do you prefer to dangle the stinger or stick it?
  3. It seems to be password protected.
  4. Economics 101. Do you buy 90% of your groceries at a supermarket or a corner store? Convenience is worth something. I think I already know the answer to my question. I retired in 2000 and don't have a COLA so my pension is the same. I have to squeeze a nickel till the buffalo craps a dime. I do support some of our sponsors and will continue to do so. Northwoods is my closest tackle provider followed by Franks. The money is being spent in this State and Lord knows this State can use it.
  5. Frank's is another great place. I'm in there as much as Northwoods. Frank's gets a lot of my business. I hope they become a sponsor here. Northwood's buy in huge quantities and pass the savings on to the customer. If ya never been there check it out. If ya don't like it, don't go back. I hope they become sponsor here.
  6. Don, She's a beauty. Ya know I luv dem hardtops.
  7. They do have a lot of good buys. About a year ago the OR12s were $20 there. I'm in that store a few times a month. They have a ton of stuff that isn't listed on their site.
  8. "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"
  9. Jason, GJ on the Big Man Steel. VN pics. You'll get the heck of posting the pics. Tom, Thanks for helping out and posting the pics.
  10. Adam, Come on now!!!!! You can hold a rigger cable in your bare left hand, attach a float with your right hand, and write a note with the pen held in your teeth. Be creative.
  11. Matt, A warm welcome to the GLF site. Love the video.
  12. VG advice about plotting and the cutters. The side cutters should be standard equipment on any fishing boat especially running riggers. Even if you don't fish near nets hanging a rigger up can be fatal. I keep my cutters on the engine cover in a small plastic kitchen basket along with a few other frequently used tools. You need to have the cutters at the back of the boat and ready to go.
  13. Good Job on the Steel. Here is a video tutorial Mike (GLF) put together on uploading and posting pics. I hope it helps. We NEED to see them pics. LOL http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19408 PS I see you live in Morrice. A friend and fishing buddy of mine also lives near there.
  14. It's not a good practice to run a marine engine dry for even a second or two. The impeller is the weakest link. You can probably increase the spark plug gap about .005-.010 also.
  15. Way to get em again Bomber.
  16. Tim, Welcome to the GLF site.
  17. Any one need a decent low priced Dipsy Rod Northwoods in Pinconning has the Okuma Mooching rods in 9 and 10 ft for under $20. I'm thinking they were around the $15 mark. I hope this helps. Northwoods site doesn't show even a small fraction of what they have. Anyone needing spoons they have a ton of Luhr Jennsen spoons @ $1 each including the magnums.
  18. Jim, I like it.
  19. Jim, She's looking real good.
  20. Adam, Some good eaters. Gotta Luv what we have in our back yards.
  21. Most modern GPS can interface with a PC or laptop via a USB cable for your particular unit. If all you want to do is enter waypoints you can do that while at home without a PC or laptop.
  22. I'd bet one of them would be the clown pattern.
  23. A warm welcome Tom. Nice rig.
