  6. Thanks Rich from RedEye!! This has been my most enjoyable salmon season yet. We had a great time being part of the WMFL and also met some really great folks. Looking forward to next year!! Thanks again for all your time and effort. RedEye
  7. We had about the same today out of Muskegon after the blow! We went 6 for 7 this morning in 255 to 265 fow. J-Plugs & Flasher fly combo down 80 to 90 ft. on riggers seem to be the best. Redeye
  8. Nice job Trapper Ed!! I will be going out of Muskegon Mon. morning and will post how we do then. Went 4 for 5 on Sat. morning out of Muskegon with 60 - 70 feet being the best. Glow squid behind dodgers on dipsey's 125 - 150 back was best for us.
  9. A friend of mine that has his pilots license shot these pics of Muskegon lake from the air. I thought they were pretty neat.
  10. On the menue click on Data then Real Time data then Meteorological Data and it will show the state of Michigan. Click on Muskegon and scroll down and you can get 4 hour or 24 hour images from all web cams.
  11. Check out the freighter that is grounded at the arms in muskegon this evening!! Oops:confused:!! Go on the 4 hour animation link #1 web cam out of Muskegon.
  12. Good Job Rich and your Crew!! Did you get to bring in the 23lb?? Nice fish!! It is getting really busy here in Muskegon also. I had to slow down to about 5-7 mph when we reached the arms Saturday morning just to try and find a path thru all the boats trolling.
  13. That one fish was very dark but also put up a great fight. He had definately either been in Muskegon Lake or up the river for a while.
  14. Frank, I too have had my share of problems and $$ this year!! Must be the year for 21 year old boats. First I had my boots on the outdrive leaking which caused gimble brearing to go bad so I replaced all that. Things were going pretty well for a number of trips then spun the engine coupler ($400). Had to tear everything down again and pull the engine. Got all that completed and things went back together really easy:) then the starter goes bad:(. Replaced that and have never had the motor roll over so well in the 6 years that I have had the boat. OK we are ready now "NOT". After 4 trips the solonoid on the new starter goes bad so had to tear that back off again and have that replaced. Hopefully once you are done with everything you will have a very reliable rig:). Good luck with your boat and Manistee. "I feel your pain"
  15. Nice job Sea-Mac on the salmon slammin!! How was the boat traffic at Port Sheldon this morning?? It was a Zoo at Muskegon.
  16. Went out of Muskegon this morning with literally 100's of other boats:eek:. Went 7-9 in 48 - 53 fow 21 - 30 down. First rod went at 6:00 am on rigger 21 down with turkish pepper landed this one. Next was dipsey 135 back with white glow spin doctor/white glow fly # 2 in the box. Turkish pepper took off again and we lost this one. Then the other dipsey 100 back with Stinger green glow flasher/green glow fly went and landed this one. Turkish pepper took off again and while my first mate was fighting this one the dipsey 135 back sarted pounding. Managed to land both of these fish. Got the rods back out and the turkish was acting strange kinda like it was being hit again then a nice king come jumping out of the water spit the the bait with out releasing it from the rigger:p. #6 come on a bloody nose J plug 30 down and was a nice fat coho wih a nice big eel attached to its side. Last fish come on the dipsey 135 back and we started pulling lines. Not a bad morning at all for getting the first hit at 6:00 am and putting the last fish in the box at 7:30 am:grin: Fish were very aggresive this morning with some of the Kings acting like Stealhead (Jumpers). Lake rolled over this morning with the surface temp being 57 degrees in 50 fow.
  17. Good job Phil!!! Salmon Slammin in Muskegon!!
  18. Mike, nice job on the Salmon Slammen!!!
  19. Nailer, We did about the same in Muskegon last nite. Very rough in Muskegon also. We started in 130 fow and worked our way out to 155. Nothing in 1 1/2 hours so we called it at 8:00pm.
  20. Tailwalker, Welcome to the site and I also am quite new member. I am from Muskegon and am sure you will like being a member of this site!!!
  21. Nice Job!! We kind of ran into the same thing Sunday morningg:D!!! Very BIG waves but the fish were Biting so we stuck it out. Went out of Muskegon tonight for 2 hours (6 - 8pm) and went 0 for 0 very rough on the water tonight also. Only heard of 3 fish from other boaters on the radio with most catches out around 150 fow. It is nice living right here in Muskegon and if it is not happening go home and try it another day..
  22. Congrats!!!! Loks like it was a really GREAT nite!!!
  23. Tim, Had to stick it out as my Dad and brother drove 100 miles to fish this morning!! They took some memories home:lol:!!
  24. We started in 55 fow before day break and after day break fished in 65 - 75 fow. 35-45 feet down was working for us today and heard on the radio some taking them 50 - 55 down in 75 - 85 fow. Brek
  25. Fished again this morning out of Muskegon with my brother and my father (75 years old). Lake was quite rolly when we got out at 4:30 am. Started setting lines and before I got the 3rd line set wham the dipsey 125 back on 2 with green glow spin doctor/glow fly went and my father brought in about a 12 pounder. This would be the only fish my father would take for the morning as his knees are bad and the waves are really building. He did not mind at all as we needed someone to help drive. Next the other dipsey went short fight and the fly broke off. Retied and put it back out. Then moonshine turkish went on rigger set at 35 and landed this one. Finally got 6 rods down and next to go was a bloody nose lited J plug Landed this one. Lake was getting really rough with 3 - 5 footers at this point and an occasional 6. Everything we had down took fish Green/black ladder J, B nose J, Moonshine turkish and flounder pounder, dipsey's with spin doctor/fly. There were only about 6 - 8 boats fishing this morning as most went in because of the seas or crew chumming for salmon:eek:. We still ended the morning going 7 for 11 and the best troll for us was south or against the waves which was quite a challenge:).
