Flying In-Lines and limit by noon.
Rayman96 replied to Walleye Express's topic in Saginaw Bay Fishing Reports - Walleye
Good going Dan! Just goes to show ya gotta think on your feet. Seems to me you could have run that charter after all. -
My post was about my personal opinion only. Again, you are free to do with it as you wish. You will not be judged for it, by me. Something else may hold more value to you. These days fishing knowledge can be found everywhere. Dan Keating and others hold seminars and also sell dvds. If you find a reasonable exchange then go for it!

My post is not to judge you at all. Seems to me, it's yours to do with as you wish. Here's the way I view something like this. I can buy a charter. I can buy a fish hawk. I can't buy luck. So with this in mind, I have never sold anything I have won. There is nothing wrong in doing so, but I personally just don't feel right about it. The only time I would consider it is if I really needed the income.

" Or it might be the side cutters I'm using to crimp them. " And now we have the rest of the story. -
Right move at the right time.

Thanks for the post. Great catch in a very short amount of time. On the subject of crimps, I would like to suggest that you look at the size of sleeves that you are using with the wire leaders. My feeling is if you use the right size sleeve for the size of wire then that will not be an issue. Your tackle supplier should have a chart for sleeve to diameter of line in use! If you follow this there should not be any issues!!! The only time to exercise care is with mono leaders!! Tight Lines ; Rayman -
Too late for this now, but I always place any container that could leak into a tray that sits in the back of the suv all the time. Another solution is a cheap plastic tarp. But since the damage is done, there are no easy solutions to the problem. And it's a huge problem because the stink will be in all of the interior. All carpet, plastic and leather. The only solution I can think of is to have the whole interior detailed again. The detail-er may have a product that will do the job. In all honesty, I think you will be living with this for some time.

I have not bought them for the same reason! The price point is way too high for me. To make my own would require making a precision mold and cutting fins out of sheet-metal for inserts. It's more than just balance. The fins have to be centered and aligned straight, otherwise it will never track straight and true. The other problem is that you are limited on what you can run behind the torpedo. You can only run clean spoons or minnow baits or such. A dodger of flasher combination would still require diver or rigger. For me it's not worth the bother to try and duplicate the torpedo diver. You can buy a mold for inline keel weights and use them inline or on a drop rig. With line-counter reels, it just takes a little time to make your own depth chart. If I was new to salmon fishing, I would likely try the dipsy divers first. Then divers and inline boards. That's because of the price of riggers. For me the jury is still out on their wire. 19 strands means finer strands are used. Could be wear and fraying issues. No wire is kink free, no matter who makes it. Earlier this year there was a quality issue with this wire. There is a notice on their website. So if anyone has any issues with this product, please check their website. http://www.torpedodivers.com/

These geese know where to avoid the hunters. They live among us in protected areas where we can't hunt. They don't migrate until late if at all, when most hunting seasons are over. Climate change and farming practices have allowed them to flourish. Hunter numbers are in decline. These are things we can't change. Relocation isn't viable with geese who can fly miles in minutes. Catching for food, to feed the less fortunate is a good second option.

I'll never leave the windows rolled down. The doors are always locked. Windows are heavily tinted. I never leave anything out in plain sight. I don't mount my gps to windshield, where suction cups could leave marks. In doing so, it will take effort and noise to get in, without any visible reward as a temptation. Installing an alarm is also a good investment. Years ago a friend of mine had a set of rollers taken from one side of his trailer. One boat I had in storage, they took trailer lights. Boaters stealing from boaters, go figure!

A simple way of adding the hose without draining all the oil is as follows. 1..take off oil fill cap. 2..adapt a small shop vac hose to oil fill opening. 3..get all tools and parts ready. 4..turn on shop vac and take out the oil drain plug. 5..attach drain hose and plumb tight. 6..shut off shop vac. The shop vac sucks enough air through the drain hole that little or no oil will escape while you do the install. A 1 or 2 gallon vac is a perfect size. HIH

Leave it in gear so the prop doesn't spin and add needless wear to you bearings and gears. Leave it gear as well when trailering.

Adipose clipping is new on the Ontario side. Used to clip belly fins, which I could never really agree with. Anyway, caught a tagged walleye once in the Thames River during the spring spawning run. Did catch clipped fish a long time ago but did not keep count. Haven't really bothered to look for adipose clips on the Erie rainbow. Time to start a log again, that's for sure.

Thank you Michigan, for taking on this aerial blight, that is sure to decimate habitat and fish stocks if left unchecked. http://www.mlive.com/news/bay-city/index.ssf/2009/05/_by_jeff_kart_jkartbctimescom.html

The last time I used exploder, it would not let me set my home page! I quit using exploder a long time ago. My main browser is Firefox and occasionally use Opera. Both work very well for me with no issues on any boards.

WTG! Great report and you did it for a young hunter. Good luck to you on your quest on Monday!;)

I do much the same thing. Recently I bought a bulk spool of 20 lb. Magnaflex by Stren in a Neon Yellow for $10. I guess the tackle store could not sell the line. 3,000 yards at a great price!!! I have two rods set up with 10 lb flourocarbon as the final line and two rods set up with 20 lb braid! Like you said, this is enough line for walleye!

Boys, I think that we have all been in this circumstance at one time or another. It took a long time to find a reliable crew to fish and help with expenses. Usually I have 3 friends who pick up the fuel cost and I pick up the rest. Some even add a few bucks to cover lost lures and such. Some bring their own tackle, which is appreciated. One fellow who fished with me had to be woken up to catch a ride. Then I rang the doorbell once. Then I kept on driving if his lights were not on! After that I had a steady crew. More recently, I now fish alone, rather than put up with the BS. Sometimes the solitude of fishing by yourself is priceless!

That is one sweet ride and now I'm jealous and have footitis. Unfortunately the budget won't allow it!:( Nice rig and thanks for sharing!

AMEN BROTHER, you are right on the money! We all will pay for this fiasco for a long time. My investments have taken a real beating lately and hope they recover before I really need them! In 8 years I will be 65 and hope to retire! This may not be possible! God willing, I will be in good enough health to continue working! Fishing and the outdoors are the only pleasures that mean anything to me these days. I haven't had a garden for a number of years but this year I'm going to start again. The benefits outway time involved and may save a few dollars. If nothing else, I'll know what is in my vegetables! Not so sure that I can trust imports!!! Also for the first time in 20 plus years I'm on a layoff list. List includes the whole plant and may be for some time due to restructuring due to overcapacity. Again Mexico is involved. Will post updates as more info comes to light.

So that's what I was doing wrong!

{Chrysler workers, who earn an average of $35 an hour, will vote on the deal this weekend and the union said it will negotiate similar concessions at GM and Ford in Canada.} Obviously this was negotiated during better times. The dollar figure is a Canadian dollar that is at about 80 cents US. Personal income tax rate is over 25% and does not include Canada Pension Plan or Employment Insurance deductions. Fuel prices last year were at over $1.20 a liter. Currently at about $.080 a liter or about $3.00 a US gallon. Goods and Services Tax is at 5%. Provincial Sales Tax is at 8%. These two taxes are about to be combined into one tax from which nothing will escape! All this to supposedly provide universal health care. If you can find a doctor to take you in. Don't even get me started on property taxes.

I believe in clean hands and clean lures! After that, I like using scent on hard baits. The Berkley family of scents work for me. Hard to beet Gulp baits at times. However, Mustad makes a pheromone feeding stimulant, that I am going to try this year. One of their tips is to keep fishing in an area where you find fish, as the stimulant disperses in the water. http://www.mustad.no/activate/index.htm?id=92
