  1. Good luck Mike! I checked out your site and they look great.
  2. I plan on being there Terry. Hopefully I'll have the autopilot hooked up and ready for a test run. I'll try to scrape together a crew, I have a few people in mind.
  3. I ended up buying 4 of them for my walleye reels. I had some extra reels that I use exclusively for walleye and browns with lighter line on them. I also use my rigger rod and reel combos. Between all of my rods I can now run 12 rods when walleye fishing, so I should be ok:) They seem to work fine and the price is right.
  4. Welcome! Look forward to some Wisconsin reports.
  5. Thanks for the mental picture Paul! I laughed out loud picturing it. I think the lesson in this thread is you can't change the past. Adapt and react. Thanks to the crash in the alewife population the walleye fishing on Saginaw Bay is the best it has ever been. And the DNR seems to be trying to get some kind of fishery going on Lake Huron by increasing the plants of steelhead, browns and Atlantics. They are more adaptable to the bait that is available in the lake. I'm lucky in a way, Saginaw Bay is 1 1/2 hours away and Muskegon is 2 hours away. Now I just need to learn how to catch walleye! Good luck and good fishing guys!
  6. Sounds like fun, thanks for the report.
  7. Yeah, I should be on good terms for the rest of the summer. She was already pretty happy. Her Dad came over monday and finished trimming out our bedroom for me. He feels sorry for the cripple. It had only been a year and a half, I was getting around to it:) If we can knock out most of the kitchen tomorrow I should still get the autopilot installed this week and hopefully calibrated. Too bad school starts back up monday. And don't even get me started on bathrooms, it's on the list!
  8. So the wife and I ordered a new fridge last week. They delivered it today and before they even left we decided it was to big to go in the same spot as the old one. By the end of today we had almost completely remodeled the kitchen. All new appliances either delivered or ordered. Cabinets removed, moved and modified. Countertops moved, removed and cut. We even managed to work a dishwasher in, we didn't have one before, other than me. We are going to have the cabinet doors sprayed a new color and new countertops installed later this summer but by the end of this weekend we should have a completely different kitchen. Too bad my original plan for today was to work on installing the autopilot on the boat. My father in law is coming over tomorrow to help with a little heavy lifting, installing upper cabinets and running the water and drain for the dishwasher. The Sugar Mama should be very happy by the end of the weekend, and I don't mean the boat:)
  9. Looks like a great time Roger. It's easy to see what's important in those pictures.
  10. Nice job, very well done.
  11. Troy, maybe one of the Saginaw area guys can recommend a good outboard mechanic? That way you can get a correct diagnosis. I don't know anyone over there but I am sure someone can help you out. I do know one thing, it is no fun being out on the big water if you are not 100% confident in your equipment. I have been out with other people and have not felt real confident in the equipment and it doesn't make for a very relaxing day. I guess my advice would be to get a 3rd opinion from a recommended mechanic. Then you can make an informed decision.
  12. Frank, you can just bump the dual frequency over to the 200khz setting for shallow water. I have only had it out once and we started in 10'. I actually had to turn down the gain because I was picking up a lot of clutter. With the dual beam I had the gain turned up to 89%. With the dual frequency I turned it down to 65% and had the same clarity. I am looking forward to using it in deep water because I think the definition will be much better. I also think that it will be better while running on plane. I think the dual freaquency makes better use of the power the 340c provides.
  13. Frank, I had the dual beam ducer on my 340c and traded it in this year for a dual frequency. The dual beam was all right but the dual frequency is much better. Worth the $25. I bought an Airmar and it cost me quite a bit more than $25.
  14. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Bay City ramp a DNR ramp?
  15. That post is 3 years old. I doubt he still has it or will see your post.
  16. You just can't catch a break Troy. Good job on the fish and good luck with the boat.
  17. How's it going Wayne?

  18. Hey Matt, sorry it took so long to get back with you. Here are my trees. The bottom holder is at 76 degrees, middle is 52 degrees, and top is 45 degrees. If I could change anything it would be to make the middle holder closer to 60 degrees and have the middle and top one rotated toward the front. I think if the middle one were about an inch or to forward and then the top an inch or 2 forward of that it would be enough. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
  19. Good job Paul. I can't help you on the kings but at least your getting out.
  20. Good job, sounds like a fun first trip. Like the guys said, it was probably a mad spring king. They can get downright ornery.
  21. Has to be nice to have her home. Good luck guys.
  22. Matt, trees are the bomb! They are great for running board rods. But I have a couple of suggestions. Use different angles, this helps avoid lines from rubbing. Also, mine don't do this but ones that are staggered forward around the tree are great. The lowest one goes straight out, the next one is angled a little forward, and the top one is angled a little more forward still. Helps even more with seperation. If you want I can get the measurements for the differing angles of mine either tomorrow or the next day. I can take a picture also. Another great idea is to make them swivel, either with a pin or a positive stop. This lets you mount them and swing them away so they don't hit the dock. Just a few ideas from someone who has learned the hard way.
  23. Between the storms and the warmer than usual spring it sounds like you did pretty good to me. Good job!
  24. I'm far from an expert but if everything else is the same (rpm's) then maybe the gears are wrong? Just an idea.
