Ive used down riggers before so i got that. The question i have is planner boards i wont have a mast for outrigging. My thought is i run out some line connect it to the board then run the board out from the boat. Do i need some sore of diver type device to get my bait to a set depth. I've been fishing the great lakes for quiet a while usually near shore, Finally was able to talk the wife into a big boat. I purchased a nice clean 21' cuddy with most of the Equipment, down riggers planner boards some rods. so the question is what spoons and plugs and rapala's should i purchase to start my big water adventures? Chasing trout and salmon usually in lake Superior near Marquette and lake Michigan near Escanaba. Thanks
