Serious!!!!!!!!! Mark will not be fishing this one. He and Dar are headed north for (2) weeks and will not be home for this one. I thought you knew that???????? Man! If he did not tell you that then he must be hanging you out to dry. (now that was a jab.)

Darrin, Who are you fishing with on the 8th?

Now a days sometimes you don't need to prefish. With the internet you can find out most of the info that you'll need to fish just about any port with out getting the boat wet and if you have a large enough net work, you can have buddies out there prefishing for you and they can relay information back to you so by the time you hit the water you already know the "WHAT, WHEN and WHERE"

We will be having a St. Joe Fishing League event held on Saturday, July 8th and the weigh in will be held at the “Lodgeâ€. It will be $25 per boat with a 9 rod and 3 man DNR limit weighing your best (1) man DNR limit. 10 points per fish + weight. This tournament will have a kicker!!!!!! There will be a 10 point bonus for bring in at least (1) perch. You are allowed to catch a 3 man limit on perch and weigh your best (1) man DNR limit for perch. The 10 bonus points + weight will be added to your over all score. We will be paying out for: $5 per boat for big fish 50% for 1st place 30% for 2nd place 20% for 3rd place Start time will be no earlier then 5:30am and pull lines at 1:00pm. Weigh-in will be around 2:30pm. If we catch enough perch I would like to do a perch fry after the weigh-in if we don’t have any perch then I should have some fish that I can use and I’ll take what ever you can donate. Start planning for this outing now we only have 3 weeks to go. If I missed anything or I’m not clear on something, let me know.

Well I finally have a chance to post up for the St. Joe Fishing League’s Lake Erie Outing. I don’t have the final results yet, they are still in the camper at the farm and I’ll swing by after work and get them. Well it was a great time on and off the water. The fishing was fantastic, with my crew hauling in our limits Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The after fishing gatherings were as entertaining as the fishing it’s self. As for the tourney on Saturday, we had some stiff winds Friday night and I did not think that the fish we found on Friday would still be in that area so we headed out to the wind blow shores in front of Stoney Point and work the shallow waters north to the power plant looking for feeding walleye. We found they right were we thought we would but they were in the 17” range and not what we were looking for. We turned the boat and head out for deeper waters and for a 20” in 24 fow and marked that point and never left that area to finish out the day. We were pulling Standard size spoons off the riggers, Hot-N-Tots off 3/0 dipsy set on 1/2 back 60’ and harnesses on 3/0 dipsy set on 3 back 90 to 100’. Pink & Purple was the hot spoon colors, Gold/Black and Perch Tots, Chartreuse and hammered brass harnesses. I’m not going to say who won the Tournament. I’ll have the results up as soon as I can. Once again, what an outing. These outing get better and better every year.

Funding seeks to control cormorant population By Chris Engle, Editorial Assistant GAYLORD - Legislation recently passed through the U.S. House of Representatives is appropriating $300,000 toward the control of the double-crested cormorant population in Michigan and Ohio. This comes as good news for both anglers and fisheries management groups who have noticed a decline in game fish populations coinciding with a booming cormorant flock. “Fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts know the double-crested cormorant has caused severe damage to fish populations,†U.S. Congressman Bart Stupak, D-Menominee, said in a news release. “This funding will help our region continue efforts to address this problem.†Such funding will allow wildlife and fisheries management groups such as the Dept. of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Fish and Wildlife Service to step up population control measures already under way in areas where massive cormorant flocks breed and nest. Though some lethal methods of control are being used conservatively, the double-crested cormorant's federal endangered species protection status limits these measures while allowing non-lethal methods, reported Dave Borgeson with the DNR fisheries department. Wind project planned in lake Trillium seeking site off Belleville 140 giant turbines worth $1 billion May 31, 2006. 07:27 AM TYLER HAMILTON BUSINESS REPORTER A Toronto company wants to erect more than 140 massive wind turbines down the middle of Lake Ontario in what would become the largest wind farm in North America. Trillium Power Energy Corp. told the Toronto Star that it is in the process of getting government approvals for a 710-megawatt project, called Trillium Power Wind 1, which at full output would provide enough clean electricity to power more than 200,000 homes. Mike, Just like fishing for Salmon, you let the fish tell you how fast. Most troll between 1.0 mph to 2.0 mph, but I have been up to speeds of 2.4-2.7 before on Lake Erie. Also what you are pulling has a lot to do with speeds, crawler harnesses you need to troll slow but spoons and plugs you can troll faster.

Thanks Wayne for having me on board and I'm glad I could help double your catch for the year off your boat. -

I think your right!! I had Larry, Jim and Levi over for dinner the night before and I think that they were all fishing together.
-
I set my core out, open the bails and let them go. While they're going out I set my riggers. Once the cores and rigger are out I set up my dipsies.

The guy on the right side of the boat is Sixshooter but the guy on the left side:confused:

So much for Property values now I'm going to have to drop the asking price another $5000 to sell the old house in a murdering neighborhood. At least it was about 5 blocks away from me and not next door.
