  1. We trolled from 6 to 11 am in 130-150 fow and went 0-3. We marked a lot of bait but there didn't seem to be many fish around it. All three hits came on a live wire spindoctor with a green spin n glo 110 ft down on a downrigger. It was frustrating considering all the good reports we've seen but it was probably just too nice out to get into them (we get that a lot when it's calm). Also a heads up there's a big arse tree trunk floating around 60 fow just south of Holland, someone already flagged it, you don't see much of it but it's big. 2. Haven't been out much with all this Covid-19 fallout keeping me at work but I finally got out Sunday morning. We trolled around from 7 to 11 am around 130 ft the whole time. We ended up 2 for 3 with two Lakers 1# and 4# and had probably a king break off. Saw some promising suspended marks but no takers mid column. After about 9 we slowed our troll from 2.4 to 1.7 mph and that's when we got all three hits. Can't wait for this midsummer funk to be done. Here's what took the hits: 2-2 live wire spindoctor with a green spin n glo 110 down on a downrigger 0-1 blue jeans paddle with a blue fly on 200 copper Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App

  3. I guess I meant to say boat launches, good to hear there's at least one open Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  4. How are the marinas there? I'm thinking about launching out of South Haven Sunday but I've heard there marinas are unusable with flooding Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  5. Trolled from about 6:30 to 9 right around 150 feet then got blown off the lake in my small 18 footer. I ended up 1 for 1 with a 22# king. Probably my most victorious 1 for considering I couldn't reach my desired depth with the waves and had my outing cut short. She hit a SpongeBob meat rig behind a mixed veggies spindoctor on 300 copper. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App

  6. Up until two years ago I remember the high water mark was 20 and we didn't hit it a lot of years Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  7. Brought my girlfriend out and trolled from 6 to 9 pm. We trolled 180 to 190 and ended up 3 for 5 with an 11# coho, 28# king and 6# steelhead. Here's what took the hits: 2-2 SpongeBob meat rig behind a mixed veggies spindoctor on 300 copper 0-1 lime green fly behind playin in playa big weenie flasher on 200 copper 1-2 green and white fly behind a green alewife spindoctor on a dipsy 150 back set on 2 Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  8. We tried literally the exact same range and only managed one laker and lost two likely kings, frustrating because we kept marking stuff Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  9. If you cut the head and belly meat off the alewife it fits perfectly in the helmet Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  10. We trolled from 6 to 9:30 am and tried everything between 190 and 130 feet. We ended up 1 for 3 with a 4# coho. All hits were around 140 feet. Here's what took the hits: 1-1 300 copper SpongeBob meat rig on a mixed veggies spindoctor 0-1 UV crush green dot Dreamweaver paddle with a matching meat rig on a diwnrigger 100 ft down 0-1 UV Lorin frog on 150 copper Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  11. That one wasn't set yet, that king hit while I was setting the rigger up so I stopped with it just dangling Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  12. We trolled just north of Holland from 6 to 10 am. We started in 120 and went 3 for 3 in our first hour with a 5# coho and an 8# and 15# king. After that, nothing. All three fish were on 300 copper with a mixed veggies spindoctor and SpongeBob meat rig. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  13. I never quite understood why but outside of the occasional laker or steelhead I can never really get much in shallow bait balls this time of year, even when the water's turned over Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  14. I think it's just that time of year. They start schooled up, it seems easy, then next thing you know they scatter and it's hit and miss. Hopefully we get a good showing in late July and August because 2017 was insanity but last year was a goose egg. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  15. Nice report, good to see they haven't completely scattered here Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  16. Yeah that was definitely a drop back, he was more pink when I caught him and his underbelly was bruised Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  17. Did a solo maiden voyage from 6:30 to 10:30, ended up 2 for 4 with a 4# king and 3# steelhead. Got a double header right off the bat in about 110 fow and only landed one, shortly after came the steelhead in 105 fow and about an hour later I had what had to be a bigger king on in 130 fow and lost it. I must not have dialed them right considering all the good reports I've been hearing. Here's what took the hits: 1-1 Moonshine flounder pounder magnum on 200 copper 1-1 Michigan stinger uv fruit stand on 150 copper 0-1 Michigan stinger magnum mixed veggies blue on diwnrigger 55 ft down 0-1 Pro king blue jeans flasher fly combo on a #1 dipsy 150 ft back Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  18. I suspect they moved north, I've been hearing a lot of good reports out of Ludington and Frankfort Sent from my SM-G930V using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  19. You were probably marking lakers and steelhead. I've been finding the kings 100+ feet down scattered anywhere from 130 to 200 feet, in other words super spread out. My guess is with this hot weather they're just not in a hurry to start grouping up and staging yet. Sent from my SM-G930V using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  20. Give it a couple weeks and see if they show up. I remember last year at this time it was dead but by mid August I was killing it. Sent from my SM-G930V using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  21. They're gonna be scattered right now. This wind screwed up the the thermocline when it turned the water over so they don't really have a specific depth to gather. A couple weeks ago I had no problem finding them. Sent from my SM-G930V using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  22. Set lines south of Holland in 125 fow at 5:30 and pulled them at 10. I ended up 2 for 4 with a 4# coho and a 3# laker. My hits were all around 135 fow. Here's what took the hits: 1/1 mixed veggies spin doctor with a spongebob meat rig on 300 copper 1/2 big weenie angry alewife with an angry alewife meat rig 45 down on a downrigger 0/1 plain white pro troll flasher with a nose bleed fly on 150 copper Sent from my SM-G930V using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  23. Gold coast outfitters, they're out of business now Sent from my SM-G930V using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  24. I've never been north of Whitehall during a flip so I guess I can't speak for those ports. I'm pretty sure a buddy of mine gets them in Manistee harbor though Sent from my SM-G930V using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  25. When the water near shore turns over they gather around the piers and you can cast net them up Sent from my SM-G930V using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
